In 1700s there are multiples events which shaped the United State to became as an

independent country. The events include the premises and the American revolution which lead to

how US became an independent country. It was actually war between the United Kingdom and

13 colonies at the time. However, at that time, the slave entered the war and be another force that

fought the revolution. The reason behind the revolution were freedom and independence, they

became the third party, whether they fought along colonials or join the British army. But

fortunately, Colonials won the war and gain independent, it is important that all slaves receive

similar rewards regarding their dedication before, during, and after the revolution. This goes

against independence as a country which mean completely independent. It includes freedom of

all people regardless of their gender and their ethnicity. So, even after the Revolutionary War

ended, the slave of freedom was not yet completed, ultimately, making this evolution less

evolutionary. Unlike the colonists not all slaves have freedom and get paid for what their

sacrifice.

The beginning of slavery began before the Revolutionary War. Specifically, in the 1400s,

slavery was exploited to support the invaders. What happened was that the invaders turned the

indigenous people into slaves, using them as a valuable and economically viable asset to make a

profit. Slaves were used for various purposes, most common are for exploring new area,

plantations and trading with other slaves. (Taylor 32). Slavery continued for hundreds of years,

and according to Taylor, most African American immigrants who did not come to the State

voluntarily pursued freedom as conventional legends, they were forced to do so. A lot of slaves

have been trading and take away from their mother lands to work on European plantation for the

rest of their lives until the before the revolution (323). The slaves fought on both sides of the
Revolution, they fought for their own freedom with the promises of the leaders in the revolt

against the British. Unluckily, the American Revolution is not the end of slavery, the American

Revolution is not the end of slavery; instead, it is beginning to end slavery in the United State.

Both of the documentaries, Petitions by African American in New England and Documents of

the Quack Walkers case help me to understand about the lack of independence to the African

Americans community.

Like any others battles, both sides need a huge number of people in order to win. Their

main priority is to create a strong number of military and they realized that African Americans

community was a good and easy option. One of the ways that this community has affected so

severely is when slaves were forced to fight using their freedom as advantage. In term of attract

salves to join the military, they offer a number of popular statements and suggestions by

revolutionary leaders during the revolution. One of those included Dunmore's statement,

promising to win free tickets for the one that join British army along with the statement of Sir

Hennry to free all slaves after the war end “regardless of whether or not they join the British

forces” (Slavery, Up from). Since the colonel, the Virginia Society's response has been a death

letter for fugitives, followed by the Rhode Island Regiment which is a promise for freedom. The

fact that both sides received a lot of support especially British army. This will be along the side

that how much risk they have to sacrifice for their own freedom.

However, even when the war end slavery still exists. Although most slaves have been

liberated by the promises of the British promises but there are some unlucky that cannot get over

it. The Treaty pf Paris stated: “British return any negroes, or any property belong to the

American inhabitants” (Slavery, Up Form). For the colonies, although most slaves in the North

had been liberated from the Rhode Island regiment, the southern regions remained very devoted
to slavery. This is due to their dependence on slavery when it comes to financial stability,

especially during the Cotton Boom era. They see slavery as a necessary crime that is vital to the

area because of labor-intensive work. Wood argues that it was the British, not the Americans,

that helped destroy the slave trade. While the British kept their promise, only the Northern

colonies supported the idea of non-slavery. This was the beginning of many rebellions and

subsequent, because it was important that a new nation would allow the slaves of thousands of

people.

Even the Revolution did not end up slavery, it was not until the American Revolution

happened that the freedom of slaves was consider seriously. It was during and after the war that

people began to realize that slavery was never legalized, and slavery consider as “deeply

entrenched institution, that could seem to be simply a more one of the infinite grades of

inequality in a society where inequality was the rule” (C. Nell, 1). In African American petitions,

writers made a lot of arguments to claim their rights, which include asking for freedom, reducing

taxes. Specifically, the arguments of African American slaves against Governor Thomas

Hutchinson say that not every denial is evil, some are very religious and ethical, and they deserve

to be free. All of the arguments marked the progress that slaves made after the four centuries of

silence.

Progress on the part of the Freedom slave continued to be made after the Revolution. An

example might be the Quock Walker case, which helped eliminate slavery in Massachusetts.

However, Jennison after that would argue that Walker is his slave and belonged to Jennision

property and use force to take him back. But Walked on the other hand sued his ex-master for

assaulting after and won the sue which give a huge hope to others slavery who fight for their own

freedom. In court, Justice Cushing stated that slavery was not strengthened or established, and
that it was only a practice rooted in European countries (Quock Walker Case 1). Once again, this

movement help to abolish slavery which became stronger after the American Revolution.

The freedom of slaves before, during or after were never easy. The only slavery wants to

achieve is freedom and have they own independent. They worked hard to build up the economy,

they even risk their life just to fight the revolution for freedom and lastly, they were the main

reason that help the US became independent by joining the military. On the other hand, the

colonial job has not always been fair with slavery. They re-enslaved them after the war and the

South continued to plunder the labour of slaves. Fortunately, the results of the American

Revolution and the formation of a government allowed them to realize their value and their role

in creating the nation. Most importantly, it reinforces their voice to freedom, therefore after

hundreds years, African American community have finally made a huge progress which led them

to freedom.
