Dear Parent,

My name is Abbie Manges, and I have been paired with your child for Geneva College’s tutoring
program as part of the Phonics class. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with your
child on letter recognition, phonemic awareness, reading, and writing.

During the first week, I will be doing a DIBELS assessment with your child to determine his
literacy needs. Based on this data, I will construct individualized tutoring plans to target specific
learning goals. The lessons will be delivered through various games and interactive activities in
order to engage your student and provide meaningful learning opportunities for him. At the
end of the semester, I will provide you with a summary of his progress.

Thank you for allowing your student to participate in the tutoring program! I know he will do
