Troubleshooting weak rings (< 20 HU)

General
It is critical to follow the sequence listed below. The sequence is based on experience from CS HSC22 and other groups.

Troubleshooting sequence
· 1. Check:
Event log for gantry temperature or humidity problems.
Solution:
Troubleshoot temperature/humidity problem.

· 2. Check:
Was the DMS (DPU_2) switched off over night?
Solution:
Make sure that DPU_2 is not switched off over night (as explained in the planning guide).

· 3. Check:
When was the last calibration performed?
Solution:
If too long ago, perform calibration.

· 4. Check:
Does the ring disappear with calibration?
Solution:
If no -> perform a tune-up according to the Adjustment instructions.

If yes -> perform the following drift test.

Drift test
· Find the parameters which are causing the problem: Head or Body Mode, Focus, Standard or High resolution (UHR),
time, slice.
This is necessary to find the relevant Bascal table.

· Go to C:\Somaris\Service\datastore\icstable (to find Bascal table).

· Find the relevant Bascal table. Example: bascal_4 x 1000_small_Uhr_1000_Body Explanation: slice 4 x 1 mm, small
focus, High resolution, time and organ.
· Send the two relevant Bascal tables (_changed and _orig ) to CS HSC 22 for an evaluation with regard to a possible
drift problem.
