What is inquiry-based learning?


The Inquiry-based Learning is a teaching approach that emphasizes students'
questions, ideas and observations. This form of learning enhances comprehension,
rather than memorizing facts and taking notes, students are now encouraged to discuss
ideas among their peers. Inquiry implies involvement that leads to understanding and a
form of active learning that starts by posing questions, problems or scenarios. A teacher
used a different approach to students to developed their learning, such as doing small-
group discussion or group activities as a guided for their learning

When to use inquiry-based learning?

In using inquiry-based learning let students share their own ideas and questions about
a topic. Engage student to individually task with the material so they can learn from it
in their own unique way through traditional or modern way of learning. Through
inquiry-based learning, students build their comprehension, critical thinking and
communication skills inside and outside the classroom. Teacher should also make a
small group o group discussion of one topic and they present it with their own ideas, a
role of a teacher as facilitator for them to developed their learning skills.

Role of ICT inquiry-based learning?

The roles of ICT allow the teacher to produce and modify resources quickly and easily.
It allows access to a wide range of information that they need. Inquiry-based learning
the ICT implement to help student to make their life easy but they need to think
critically if the information they gathered is reliable for them to understand and learn
well. In classroom we integrate ICT by using power point presentation to present the
topic and at the end of the lesson. Also, teacher can create a virtual classroom with the
help of technology to teach student and this ICT integrate catch the attention of
students for them to learn well.
