    SHORT STORY BY HANS ANDERSEN

    ABSTRACT

    This paper is to analyze intrinsic elements especially in the plot and theme sections in The Wicked Prince,
    short story by Hans Andersen. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the connection between the plot and
    the theme. To fulfill the purpose of this writing, the writer uses reader response theory and close reading
    methods. The writer finds out that the plot of this story provides the exterior action that proves the
    theme’s proposed argument. The conclusion is the plot and theme was an essential aspect to develop this
    story.
