Intro

Covid-19 has been leaving impacts on all sectors starting from business to education. But mostly the
sufferers are the students in elementary classes. Though education is going on strong in online methods,
there are some key points we need to keep in mind with kids. They tend to pick up more when they are
taught while playing games or making study fun. Due to everything being online they are missing a
massive part of their childhood. Another point being teachers have very minimum knowledge on taking
classes online. Those who can afford gadgets needed for their classes aren’t even getting the
appropriate education they need. In Bangladesh one of the basic rights is education. But Bangladesh
being a developing country providing tools to every single child is quite tough. That is why many are
lacking behind from their right to education. Online assessments aren’t also fair.

Outcomes

As students are taking their classes online including their exams they have unethical ways to pass their
assessments. So judging their merit is quite tough.

Their goals of study aren’t being achieved because of the lack attention they are giving to their classes
and taking their exams honestly

As everything is being shifted to being technological, student have access to social media and video
games from an very early stage.

Being physically active and away from screen time is a need for developing mental health. But due to
pandemic they are not being able to or even willing to leave their screens to go out and play.

Methodology

We have collected necessary information to make the report

Constructed necessary questionnaire

Asked questions relevant to conduct the report

Targeted people and medium to approach them

We have asked some of the elementary students what they think about the systems and how they might
want to change it. And asked whether they are taking the classes properly and exam being conducted
fairly.
Due to pandemic we have reached out to people via social media those include facebook whatsapp
instagram etc. we have talked to them in video chat. And send google survey forms for them to attend
the survey. But we did keep in mind that they are mere children and kept the questions as easy as we
could while collecting the information we need

Results

We received about 14 responses.

All the schools have adopted online classes and they are doing their classes

92.7% have adopted online assessment ways for evaluating their students

And as said by the students being honest, they do not attend all the assessments fairly. They have
indulged in unfair ways and have been taking their exams in those manners.

And the answers to their assessments can be found in online social media. With one swift google search
they get the exact answer they have been looking for.

Uses of other technologies have also been increased vastly. Besides taking classes as they have acess to
the tools like mobile, PC, Tabs or laptops they have been indulging themselves in other medias too.

And the percentage of students staying online have been increasing vastly. As you can see the colored
charts on the slide, the blue represents 0-2 hours, red represents 2-4 hours yellow represents 4-6 hours
and lastly green represents more than 6 hours. Before the pandemic screen time for most of the
children were 0-2 hours which being 66.3% of the whole amount. This has increased to students having
screen time more than 6 hours by 64.3% where the chart was merely green before the pandemic, its
totally almost completely green during the pandemic having everything shift Online.

The study time has also been decreased massively. 35.7% of them used to study more than 6 hours. It
has reduced to 21.4% of them now. 14.3% of the students used to study from 4-6 hours but now that
has increased to 21.4%. 35.7 % of them used to study 2-4 hours a day and surprisingly the the
percentage remains the same. 14.3% of them used to study 0-2 hours and the ration increased to 21.4%.
By this we can see that the students aren’t studying as much as they were before the pandemic.

We found no major changes on playing video games before and after the Covid-19

The feedback from the students we received about online classes are amazing. Only 35.7% of them said
they are learning from the online classes. The amount is really unacceptable. 28.6% of them said they
are not learning all the topics properly. Some of the technical subjects like mathematic, science,
computer science are getting tough for them to understand online. And lastly 35.7% of them said online
classes are not up to the standards at all. They are facing huge problems. And they are being unable to
catch any studies at all.
