Chapter One: System Introduction Guide
1.1. General Introduction
The microprocessor built-in Vesta series is equipped with following features to maximize its
remarkable performance with less expansive price.
z Market leading light and compact design for modern OA environment and OEM flexibility.
z Powerful CPU integrates all power stages, control and communication Functions necessary for maximized
UPS protection and functionality, Including power management status.
z True RS232 serial communication interface allows full function remote Control from any computer
environment.
z Smart UPS Monitoring and Management Software bundled.
z Automatic Voltage Regulations(AVR) maximizes device productivity And minimizing battery usage.
z Automatic Frequency Sensor reduces headache in frequency shift.
z DC Start function makes sure of the start-up of UPS during power outages.
z Automatic Self-test function ensures UPS reliability.
z Easy swappable batteries preserve vital protection at all times.
z Plug and Play function achieves ultimate user-friendliness for Windows application.
z Modem/Internet protection eliminates deadly spikes and Surge in network cables.
z Site Wiring Fault Indicator detects improper wiring jobs, further terminating Possible power sources
problem. (115V Type only)
z The UPS keeps charging normally while the utility is normal
z If the UPS turn off after discharged, the UPS will auto restart while the utility recover

1.3.2. Description
A. Front Panel Explanation
1)Front LED and 1. Line LED ( )
Alarm Green LED remains standstill when Utility is normal.
Green LED flashes every 0.5 seconds when the UPS is in Battery
charging mode.
Green LED remains standstill and simultaneously buzzer alarms
continuously when the UPS is in overload condition.
2. Inverter LED ( )
Yellow LED flashes every 3 seconds and simultaneously buzzer alarms
every 3 seconds when Utility failure.
Yellow LED flashes every 0.5 seconds and buzzer alarms every 0.5
seconds when UPS is in battery low condition
3. Overload LED ( )
Red LED remains standstill and simultaneously buzzer alarms
continuously when the UPS is in overload condition.
4. Check Battery LED ( )
Red LED remains standstill and simultaneously buzzer alarms
continuously when the UPS is in fault condition.
2) Main Switch(SW) 1.To Control on/off the UPS when Utility is normal.
2.To enable “DC-Start” Function when Utility fails. (To enable DC Start
properly, you are recommended to connect <80% output load with the UPS
only)
B. Rear Panel Explanation
1) AC Inlet This is to be connected with an AC power cord for plugging into the wall
Receptacle.
2) Backup Outlets This is to be connected to the computer sockets, which will be protected
by the UPS.
6pcs NEMA5-15R for 115Vac System and IEC320 for 230Vac System.
3)Computer True RS232 Communication Protocol.
Interface(DB9) The true RS232 type offers bi-directional signals for smart Monitor,
remote on/off, etc.. Their Pin assignments are as below.

Chapter Two: Self-Testing Guide
2.1. Introduction
They are used for the adjustments of set points which vary
from different electrical applications.
2.2.Tools Required
Tools Description
1. True RMS Multi-Meter :Digital type
2.Variable Transformer :AC output range from 0-300V, 10-15A adjustable
3. DC Power Supply :DC output range from 0-60V, 3A adjustable
4. True RMS Power Meter :Digital(including VA, W, PF, Hz, Voltage, Current)
5. Personal Computer :
6. Setting Program :Default
7. RS-232/USB Cable :Pin to Pin
Note: Most of the multimeters are Average type, with which a stepwave AC voltage read
will result in a wrong readout. Therefore, a true RMS meter is definitely required for
reading the stepwave AC Voltage.
2.3. Tetting Procedure
1. Set the AC Source at 115Vac or 230Vac and the DC Power Supply at 24Vdc, the connect
them to the UPS.
2. Connect the UPS to a computer with the RS-232 or USB cable.
3. Turn on the UPS. Make sure the UPS is on Bypass mode.
4. Adjust input voltage from nominal to higher voltage for testing AVR High function
enable , from nominal to lower voltage for testing AVR Low function enable.
