A subsidy is an economics term that refer to the financial benefit provided by the
government to certain domestic inndustries or sectors in the form of tax reduction or cash
payment. Subsidies reduce the price of the commodities of the industry to a level below their
cost production. A subsidy therefore reduces the burden on the industries or sectors and is benefit
to the public in general.
Sunsidies were first introduced by Thomas Wolsey. This was introduced in 1513 to
enable King VIII to pay for the war with Frence alongside maintaining his oppulent lifestyle.

Since mid-March 2020, all students and university students have taken part in online
learning or distance learning (PJJ) due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Because the pandemic is still
happening today, internet quota is very important.
Internet quota assistance or subsidies are given to students, teachers, students and
lecturers, which have always been used for PJJ. This internet quota subsidy is given to ease the
burden on parents and make it easier for students, teachers, students and lecturers to study online
