Project Title ‘Time’ By Pink Floyd

Section 1: Rationale (approx. 150 words)

Over the last two years I have built up a real passion for film making because of my course.
When I first joined the course, I had no clue about the art of film making however I feel that
now I have a good base knowledge and I feel confident in my abilities to do well on projects
in the real world. Through this course I got the opportunity to direct and create lots of
cinematic shorts in projects from advertisements to documentaries and in the case of my
FMP animated music videos. Through directing I have had the chance to focus on what
is being shot and how to tell stories through visuals. One of the biggest challenges I will be
facing this project is going to be time because of the fact it is mostly animation it takes a
long time to do so I will be pushed to get it in completed on time. To get past this I will
work as much as possible.

Section 2: Project Concept (approx. 200 words)

The concept for this project is a music video for the song ‘Time’ by Pink Floyd. The plan is to
make a conceptual video with a loose narrative of a teenage boy who takes a psychedelic after
spending a day with his friends and it sets him off on a trip through an animated world of colour
and light. The viewer will see sequences that depict abstract scenes of things I believe can only
really be shown the best with drawings as I couldn’t create these visions practically. This also
means I can let my imagination run wild with ideas as I can show whatever I want. For this I will
need access to animation software which is installed on the Macs at college as is Final Pro X
which I will also need to use to edit. I will also need some actors to film with for some live
action segments of the video and to film it I will be using my iPhone 11 instead of a college
camera because it can film in 4K and I have used it in previous project to great effect. We plan to
get this done within the time frame given by using all the time we have to make progress.

Section 3: Evaluation (approx. 150 words)

 I will be regularly evaluating my work on Weebly because I am using it as a log for
the rest of my work. This will be where I put all my progress and log any changes
made to the project. It is also where I will be putting my practice animations on
there. I am going to be doing this because it is good to keep a track on my
progress of the project and it will help me improve by constantly questioning my
own actions and commenting on them. Also, throughout the project I will be
getting feedback from both my tutours and my peers as the project goes on. This
will be useful because they can give a perspective different from my own and see
mistakes that I do not. Overall, my main source of reflection will be myself
however in my log on Weebly.
