Concept and functional scope

The EWM Warehouse Monitor (/SCWM/MON) is extended with new nodes and methods
for the material flow system that will improve and support your daily warehouse
operations.

This consulting solution consists of 7 independent extensions:


 Extension MFS 1: New methods to handle multiple communication channels
• Start and stop multiple channels
• Reset telegram sequence numbers for multiple channels
 Extension MFS 2: New method to send telegrams manually to the PLC
 Extension MFS 3: New method to simulate the receiving of telegrams from the PLC
 Extension MFS 4: Display application log for telegrams
 Extension MFS 5: Enhanced selection of MFS HUs by HU Ident
 Extension MFS 6: Enhanced selection of logged telegrams by telegram type
 Extension MFS 7: New monitor node to select and display MFS Alerts by HU Ident

Extension 2 & 3: Send and receive telegrams manually

Especially in the implementation and test phase it is necessary to test the interface
between EWM MFS and connected PLCs. The new monitor methods for sending and
simulating the receiving of telegrams manually make it possible to...

Extension 2: Send telegrams manually to PLC

The user can select the combination of PLC and telegram type that he wants to use for
sending a telegram.
Based on the structure of the chosen telegram type EWM asks the user to enter values
for the telegram fields using a Pop-Up.

Extension 3: Simulate receiving of telegrams from PLC

The user can select the combination of PLC and telegram type that he wants to use for
simulating receiving a telegram.
Based on the structure of the chosen telegram type EWM asks the user to enter values
for the telegram fields using a Pop-Up.

Extension 4: Display application log for telegrams

The new monitor method „Display Log“ allows the user to directly display the
corresponding application log entry for a telegram. The new method is added to the
telegram log monitor node.

Extension 5: Enhanced selection of MFS HUs

The selection node for the Handling Units is enhanced by the Handling Unit
identification. Now it is possible to select specific HUs also by the HU-Ident.

Extension 6: Enhanced selection of logged telegrams

The selection node for the telegram log is enhanced by the telegram type. Now it is
possible to select specific telegrams also by the telegram type.

Extension 7: Monitor node to display MFS alerts for HUs

The new monitor node “HU Alerts” makes it possible to search and display EWM MFS
Alerts for HUs directly in the Warehouse Monitor. The MFS Alerts can be selected by
Handling Unit and/or MFS error code.
Benefits:
 Transaction /SAPAPO/AMON1 no longer needed to check EWM MFS alerts
 Quick check for MFS issues of certain Handling Units (history of issues)

All seven MFS extensions are using the EWM warehouse monitor framework,
hence consisting of new customizing, structures and function modules. No
modifications are required.

You can pick one, several or all extensions listed in this solution. Pricing will
be done by us together with your local SAP sales team.
