Morning Meeting:

Greeting: Students sit at their desks or in a circle on the floor. One student volunteers to begin.

He/she chooses another student, greets him/her, and asks him/her to do an action. For

instance, Student A may say, “Hello, Sam. Can you do a jumping jack?” Sam would then do the

action and proceed by choosing another student and action. This is continued until every

student is greeted. If not enough time, students may do this greeting in groups.

Share Time: Students share their favorite activity on a snowy day.

Class Activity: Using the responses from the favorite snow activities, the teacher writes the

class’ top activities on the board. The class works with the teacher to create a chart that

illustrates the number of students who chose each snow day activity.

Morning Message:

Dear Weather Watchers,

What is the weather like today? Walk to the window to check the weather. Then, write two to

three sentences in your journal to describe what the weather is like.
