Each semester, the Education Undergraduate Society hosts a variety of Professional


Development seminars for students in the Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge.
Thanks to the invaluable knowledge and time presenters are willing to share, these sessions
provide meaningful learning opportunities for aspiring educators. This letter acknowledges and
commends Madison Demers for attending the following Professional Development sessions
online during the Fall 2020 semester:

N e ac a N he ​was presented by Dr. Richelle Marynowski on September 17,


2020. This session highlighted the elements of theory, numeracy, and participants had an
opportunity to actively engage in numeracy activities.

Sharon Pelech on September 24, 2020. This session explored how to interweave
curriculum and learning with places where students live.

PART II ​was presented on October 8, 2020. This session was the continuation of PART
I with Sherri Ross and Beth Cormier which introduced participants to Nelson
Education s resource, ​Ed , ​which has numerous features to support instruction and
learner engagement.

Feedbac ​was presented by Jenna Lowe on October 22, 2020. This session provided
information for how participants could best prepare to receive and give feedback with a
professional growth mindset.

presented by Dr. Greg Ogilvie, Rhona Harkness, Arlene Purcell, and Keith Griffioen on
November 3, 2020. This session focused on practical tips for classroom management and
fostering a positive classroom environment.

Ma ag g Y 3F Whe O e he ed, S e ed, F a ed ​was presented


by Dawn McBride on November 5, 2020. In this workshop, participants learned about
recognizing and managing stress reactions, using emotional regulation theory, and
strategies pertaining to prioritizing mental health.
