The characters are the grandfather, the mom, the
dad, the girl, the boy, and the people from the
story. The grandfather seems like a creative guy
who comes up with the most interesting stories
to tell. The other characters are just supporting
characters who listen to the grandfather’s story.
The setting is at first at a house then it changed to
a small town called Chewandswallow.
The theme of the book is always appreciating
what you have.
The grandfather tells the children a story about a
small town that has their food done by rain. Every
day they had different food to eat. Everything
was nice at the beginning until one day the food
started becoming larger. The food also had a
distinct turn on the weather. One day the
weather was bad, and it almost destroyed the
town. The town decided to build boats out of
food to go to a different town. They landed on a
town and they built houses and they were all
happy.
Children love it when in the story they tell
another story. Children also love it when it rains
food. They always say I wish that could happen in
real life. The illustrations are amazing because
some of them are black and white and others are
colorful. I think that represents how fun the story
is? The book is honestly an amazing example of
how to appeal to children.

I love this book because it is creative. I also like
food and so if I were a child, I would ask what
would happen if we have food coming down from
the sky. That would be my input if I were a child. I
think this book is fun and creative.
