DTC B2610 TILT POSITION SENSOR OR TILT MOTOR

CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Tilt Up Tilt Down
Mechanical Mechanical The tilt motor is operated by the power source voltage supplied
Lock Position Lock Position from the multiplex tilt & telescopic ECU and makes the steering
column tilt up and down. The tilt position sensor (hole IC) in the
Operation Range tilt motor detects the tilt angle of the steering column and out-
puts a signal to the CPU based on that tilt.
Tilt Up Limit Tilt Down HINT:
Position Limit Position Limit positions can be confirmed on the screen of the hand−
F03815 held tester.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
First, troubleshoot the actuator power source circuit (see page 05−719) when DTCs B2610 and B2611 are
output simultaneously.
1 PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER II

(a) Connect the intelligent tester II to the DLC3.

ON (b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the in-
Up telligent tester II on.
(c) Select ”Tilt Operation” from the ACTIVE TEST, and per-
Intelligent
Tester II
form the test using the intelligent tester II.
Down (d) Check that the steering wheel tilts up (down) when the
ACTIVE TEST is carried out.
