DTC P0705 TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR CIRCUIT


MALFUNCTION (PRNDL INPUT)

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The park/neutral position switch detects the shift lever position and sends signals to the ECM.
DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
(2-trip detection logic)
 All switches are OFF simultaneously for P, R, N, D, 3 and 2  Short in park/neutral position switch circuit
P0705 positions.  Park/neutral position switch
 2 or more switches are ON simultaneously for P, R, N, (D 4),  ECM
3 and (2 L) positions.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1 INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSY

(a) Jack up the vehicle.


(b) Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
(c) Check continuity between each terminal shown below
when the shift lever is moved to each position.

2 INSPECT SHIFT LOCK CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSY

(a) Connect the park/neutral position switch connector.


ATL AT4 (b) Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector.
AT2 ATD
(c) Check continuity between each terminal shown below
when the shift lever is moved to each position.

3 CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH -


ECM)

ON D(+) L(+) (a) Connect the shift lock control ECU connector.
P(+) (b) Turn the IG switch ON and measure the voltage between
E1(-) 2(+) N(+)
R(+) terminals NSW, P, R, N, D, 4, 3, 2, and L of ECM and the
E1 when the shift lever is shifted to the following position.

HINT:
*: The voltage will drop slightly due to lighting up of the back up
light.
