TIR 100-2

Measuring of thermal emissivities within seconds

TIR100-2 is a compact hand-held unit to measure thermal emissivity of nearly any surfaces
precise and nondestructive.
Measuring elements, operation control, control device, and evaluation electronics as well
were placed space saving in the hand-held unit. Instrument operation requires only a power
supply. Operation of the device happens by a great illuminated touch screen display.

Function:

Object surface is diffuse irradiated with a 100° C half sphere shaped black body radiator.
The reflected infrared radiation is measured and converted into an absolute value of emis-
sivity by the help of the calibration values of the calibration standard belonging to the in-
strument. The result is displayed immediately on the touch screen of the device.
A detailed instruction manual informs about the physical basics of the measurement proce-
dure and the handling for precise measuring.
Applications

The TIR100-2 may be used for quality control af-

ter a coating process or to assist research and
development in laboratory.
Measurement result for glass is quite equal to
results after EN 12898.
Emissivity of coated foils as construction foils is
measured after prEN 15976.

Some typical applications:

• Qualification of coated glass

• Qualification of coated solar collector sheets
• Qualification of coated foils
• Qualification of thermal coating of satellites
