Potential Employers

The potential employers I have

chosen to apply for work within the
near future are: Amita Health, Osini Surgical Dermatology, and Dupage Medical group,
Christ Hospital, Friends and Family, UIC, I choose these companies because it would
be a good start and a learning experience and would allow me to help people as much
as I can and be able to learn more hands on than I would in school.

Registered Nurse

A registered nurse helps patients and family members understand medical conditions.
They also work in a school's nurse's office. They also help children when they get sick
during school hours. A registered nurse gives advice and they also give emotional
support.

There are registered nurses everywhere that have a medical office or a schools nurses
office. The work hours depend on where and what kind of job they are working or the
shift they have. Most registered nurses have to be on shift for 24 hours depending
where they are working and what time their job closes or if it's a hospital they would
have registered nurses on shift around the clock.

$73,300 per year; and about $35.24 per hour. Half of workers in this occupation earned
more than the amount and others earned less than half.

or on shift for the first few hours of their shift.

Geographic expectations

are in California, Florida, Texas, New York, and
Pennsylvania.

Job Outlook

This career field is one long-term basis due to

older patients and rehabilitation for stroke and
head injury patients and in facilities that treat
people with Alzheimer's disease. According to
the Bureau of Labor Statistics (handbook),
registered nurses will be in a high demand due
to the older age population who would prefer to
get treated at home or in a residential care
facility.

Potential employers

My potential employers would be Amita Health, Dupage hospital, Christ hospital. I

chose these three because I feel like I would get the ability to learn more in the career
field that I would be working and would have space to be able to work in even a higher
position in the near future.

Conclusion / recommendation

Medical assistant and a registered nurse have somewhat of the same job outlook and
work environment; however, the work hours and pay are different and so are the
classes and qualifications to become a medical assistant and a registered nurse. The
medical assistant career field makes less than a registered nurse; however, a registered
nurse does more than a medical assistant and would be working a long shift.
