Do First: Ask students ways they think their grandparents show them love and have a short pair discussion.

Mini-lesson: Read out loud in reading corner “I Love Saturdays y Domingos”, showing students the picture book
as I read along.

Guided Practice: In pairs of two, students will each roleplay one way their grandparents show them they are
loved or what they enjoy doing on the weekends together similar to activities shown in the book and answer if
they feel the same way the girl in the book did.

Independent Practice: Each student will be given one worksheet to show their understanding of the reading
and moral of the story. Each student will individually draw on the sheet of paper provided. Since the reading
does have Spanish words in it, teacher will be walking around for students who have any questions.

Exit Slip: Students will be able to state the ideas when asked they obtained from the reading that show about
how each culture works similarly but different in their own way.

the identified grade level? Students see that each set of grandparents show their love
and affection to the same granddaughter different based on the grandparent's

students understand that each culture will have its own way of showing appreciation
and that each culture will have its separate traditions, like the Happy Birthday song.

selected for the “Instruction-learning process? The students engaged with each other
and the teacher during the learning process. They also obtained a chance to separately
work together.
4.Lastly, list the strengths and weaknesses of the lesson plan. A strength this lesson plan
has is the book itself. The book provides multiple ways families celebrate the same
