Bloch-Bauer
It was Adler, the proprietor's wife of the Jewish sugar mill. A portrait by Adele Bloch-Bauer of a stately
seated figure with misty eyes and an aesthetic red lip. To match Blochbauer's opulence, Klimt painted the
background and petticoat in brilliant gold, and it took three years to complete.
