Earth week is among us!This past Thursday with Earth week.

My cooperating teacher
gave me creative liberty allowing me to do an Earth Day project with the students if I wanted to.
And of course I did! I love Earth Day and I feel like everyone should appreciate Earth Day as
much as I do! For Earth Day I gathered rocks and oyster shells and painted them a variety of
colors so each student could choose a color of their liking. Each student got to choose from
either an oyster shell or a rock and painted an inspirational quote or why they love the Earth on
each rock/oyster shell. I told the students they could gift their creations or leave them in a
well-traveled area for others to find. Pictures of some of the students and their rock's / oyster
shells can be found and the photo section of my portfolio!
Other than Earth day this week was quite uneventful. I led my lit circle with Miriam and
Ashley and we discussed all there was about the book we're reading. These two girls are so
incredibly dedicated and in love with this book! Most days they read farther than I do and have
to catch me up so that we can read the pages they are on. It's funny, my cooperating teacher
sometimes has a hard time with students reading the page they are supposed to. But not my
girls, they've read 10 to 15 pages ahead every single day! Overall it was a great week and I'm
so excited to see what the next entails.
