Drug supply problem often occurs in hospital. The health services
might be interrupted due to the shortage of supplies (stockout),
which can cause the business risk for the hospital. In case of
stagnant stock, storage and maintenance costs for the warehouse
increases. Inventory control is required to minimizes operational
cost, in order to maximize profits. The problem observed in this
study is the high inventory cost due to drug stagnant 90,8%, drug
stockout 2,8%, expired drugs 6,4% in the period January to
December 2014 in Pharmacy Installation of Mojokerto District
Hospital
To determine the most effective and efficient inventory planning
between EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) and MMSL (Minimum-
Maximum Stock Level) by comparing the opportunity cost and
opportunity loss of stagnant drugs and stockout products in
Pharmacy Installation
The study was a descriptive observational research by observations
of each analysis in the real condition, simulated with EOQ and
MMSL individually. Based on the data collection time, the research
is done by cross-sectional research, which is conducted only once
at certain times.
The percentage obtained as a result of
RESULTS
Normal inventory
7% at real conditions,
Simulated condition with EOQ 34%,
Simulated condition with MMSL 20%.
Total value of opportunity cost and
opportunity loss for drug stagnant and stockout
Real conditions is Rp 631,9 juta,
Simulated condition EOQ is Rp 60,8 juta,
Simulated condition with MMSL is Rp 88,8 juta.
Effective parameter is determined based on
The percentage of normal drug supply, while the efficient parameter
is determined based on the smallest loss results of opportunity cost
and opportunity loss analysis
Recommendation: From this study, It is proved EOQ method is the
most effective and efficient methods which can be used in
Pharmacy Installation of Hospital
CONCLUSION
It is proved EOQ method is the most effective

and efficient methods which can be used in

Pharmacy Installation of Hospital
