Factors associated with medication adherence of
hypertensive patients in the Philippines: a systematic review
Abstract
Diseases of the heart and vascular system are the leading cause of mortality
in the Philippines. Hypertension, the most important modifiable risk factor, has
a prevalence rate of 28% and a control rate of 20%. Despite the proven
efficacy of pharmacologic treatment, medication adherence is reported to be
as low as 66%. While there are publications that reported factors that affect
adherence in Filipinos, there are no existing research that evaluated them
systematically. This review is conducted to present and synthesize findings of
published literatures.
Synthesis
The findings should be interpreted with caution due to methodological
constraints. Nonetheless, because health-systems-related factors are
modifiable, they can be the focus of interventions and future research to
enhance drug adherence. Clinicians may also want to examine their Filipino
hypertensive patients for noncompliance risk factors in order to make
particular suggestions. Longitudinal research studies with diverse populations
of hypertensive Filipinos are required to develop population-specific
therapeutics

ABSTRACT
The study entitled " Web-based Medical Information with Inventory System
of LGU Jones Health Services Unit, was designed and developed to create
a web-based system that answers the existing problems encountered in the
present procedures In terms of organizing and minimizing the useof paper
in the clinic. The purpose is to design a system that collects and stores
patients' information, medicine information, medicine inventory and that
makes it available for decision making for analysis and for management
action and policy making. The administrator must log in to the system in
order to record and input all the information needed in the transaction.
Using database, all inputted data are stored in it. All medicine information,
and patient information are also stored in the database. Related studies
and literature were also integrated in this study, observation, interview
internet research and questionnaires were the design used. The Web-
based Medical Information and Inventory System of LGU Jones Health
Services Unit was developed using the Bootstrap, JQuery, MySQL
Synthesis
Technology is crucial nowadays because it makes life more convenient and allows
individuals to do their jobs more efficiently and quickly. And, as a result of technology,
man's work has become more trustworthy and accurate. This study was carried out with
the goal of eliminating manual processes that individuals manage in order to do things
that are useful to them. Technology is the one that plays an essential role in our current
way of life. Individually created printed medical information may be part of a paper-
based MedicalInformation System that is difficult to access, update, and share with
others. During a natural disaster, paper-based information is vulnerable to physical loss
and destruction. Because of these issues, the researchers created a Web-based
Medical Information with LGU Inventory System.

Centro Escolar University-Manila virtual community pharmacy internship: Evaluation on
the achievement of learning outcomes and satisfaction of students
Abstract:
Part of the pharmacy education curriculum in the Philippines is the
completion of a 300-hour experiential pharmacy practice or internship in the
community pharmacy to provide students with expertise and competence in
promoting the role of pharmacists in the healthcare setting. To ensure
continuity of learning amid the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, onsite
pharmacy internships shifted to a remote setting. This study aims to
evaluate the achievement of learning outcomes and satisfaction of Centro
Escolar University-Manila students on virtual community pharmacy
internship. The study utilizes Cross-Sectional Correlational research
methods; a web-based questionnaire was distributed to a sample of 128
through purposive sampling. The results revealed that there was a very
high positive correlation between the achieved learning outcomes and
student satisfaction on the virtual internship (r=0.820, p<0.001). This
means that if learning outcomes increase by an additional unit, the student
internship satisfaction level will also increase by 82%. The students
showed a positive attitude towards their experience, learning outcomes and
satisfaction during the virtual internship program despite the limitations of
the pandemic. It is recommended that periodic evaluation of internship
programs be conducted to allow educational institutions to improve and
adjust the program to meet the standards of pharmacy education and
demands of the pharmacy profession.
Synthesis
According to the findings of the study, there was no significant
association between the respondents' sociodemographic profiles
and their level of efficacy in accomplishing learning outcomes and
satisfaction with the Virtual Community Pharmacy Internship. The
learning outcomes and satisfaction in the virtual community
pharmacy were unaffected by gender, age, internet connectivity,
or devices used. There was, however, a substantial association
between students' perceptions of their efficacy in accomplishing
learning outcomes and satisfaction with the Virtual Community
Pharmacy Internship. The positive connection between variables
shows that the learning outcomes and student satisfaction in
virtual community pharmacy internship have been met.
PHARMACY’S POS SYSTEM
Abstract
This paper presents the Pharmacy’s POS system. The system relies on tracking the sales and
the day-to-day transaction of pharmacy store and record the sales that has been carried out
throughout the day that is controlled by an admin and is used by the cashier to do the
transaction smoothly using this simple web application. By using this application the manual
work done by the cashier is completely eradicated and the mistakes are less likely to be done
while the technology is involved.
Synthesis
Our technology reduced manual work that used pen and paper, which made
transactions more problematic because pharmaceutical sales bring in more consumers
to the store, and maintaining all of the transactions is tough to track. The
pharmaceuticals at the pharmacy, their expiration date, and the amount of medications
easily available are among the categories and their purposes. The administrator can
request drugs to restore the already depleted stock. In addition, manual ordering is
done for prescription medications. Writing the order takes a long time because the
administrator must check the stock balance and estimate the amount to acquire based
on the data. Medication, as everyone knows, should not be taken after their expiration
dates. This project initiative will notify the administrator to the presence of nearly-
expired pharmaceuticals, halting their sale and resolving any immediate [Link] order
to maximize the contribution of medicines to achieving informed and desired patient
care outcomes, Western Pac Surveil Response J. (2015) defines medicines
management as the entire process of selecting, procuring, supplying, prescribing,
administering, and reviewing pharmaceuticals. In the Philippines, medication
management occurs at all levels of government and varies depending on whether or not
there is an emergency. Disasters and emergencies have frequently delayed the supply
of health services in the Philippines, particularly during Typhoon Haiyan in November
2013. The goal of this study was to assess the public sector's medicines management
system in Haiyan-affected areas during the response and to summarize existing
strategies for medication [Link] administration in the Philippines
during emergencies and non-emergencies

Inventory Management Practices and Service Delivery of Healthcare
Facilities in Ilocos Norte Philippines
Abstract
The study investigates the relationship between inventory management practices and service
delivery. The study participants were the 16 healthcare facilities in Ilocos Norte and 80 patients, and
they were chosen using a convenience sampling technique. The research used a quantitative
research design and a casual research approach to measure the degree of relationship between the
independent and dependent variables. Based on the findings of the study, there were five inventory
management practices observed for the study—pharmacy premises and storage, drug information,
safety and security, personnel and stock control, and monitoring. On the other hand, as service
quality, hospitals have four categories. These are hospital admissions, care and treatment, hospital
environment and facilities, and hospital discharge. Personnel and stock control and monitoring are
significantly correlated to service quality Implications, conclusions, and recommendations were also
provided in the study.

Synthesis
To begin with, your POS system should work in tandem with your
pharmacy software. Attempting to force POS software to function with an
incompatible pharmacy system will cause problems, slowdowns, and
errors for your organization. Choosing a point of sale system that works in
tandem with your pharmacy management system is critical for patient
care, customer satisfaction, and employee satisfaction. When selecting a
POS system, look for these important features and functions in addition to
direct integration.
A Point of Sale system is crucial in any organization since it allows both the
vendor and the customer to complete transactions quickly and easily.
Indeed, a good Point of Sale System in the Philippines can integrate and
streamline crucial business functions. It can also supply you with a
consistent stream of data to help you make smart business decisions. If
you intend to obtain one, you must select the most dependable ones to
benefit your organization.
