Codes and Conventions of Print Advertisements

Print Advertisement:
Newspaper Advertising: Newspaper advertising includes publications such as national and local
community newspapers, small businesses usually it would be to attract local customers in the area
they do this to reach their target audience. The price of your ad print will depend on how popular
the newspaper is and how big you want you advert to be.

Magazine Advertising: Magazine advertising includes advertising in regional and national magazines.
This is a effective way to brand your business. The magazine gives you freedom to focus on creating
an ad that would be aesthetically pleasing. Some ads can cost from a few hundred to a £2000
obviously depending on the magazine.

Directory Advertising: Directory advertising appears in places such as Yellow pages and regional or
industry directories. Usually a entrepreneur would be using yellow pages to show off their business.

Codes and Conventions of each advert:

In the Nike Advert the most important part of the picture would be the shoe itself without the main
image the rest would be completely useless because it’s a product that would be worn by it’s
customers if the main product wasn’t shown no one would bother even looking in the pictures way.
However, the slogan helps because it’s a way of them talking you into buying their product.
