Emotion is a complex experience of consciousness, bodily sensation, and behavior that

reflects the personal significance of a thing, an event, or a state of affairs (Britannica, 2019).

Distance learning is a form of education in which the main elements include physical separation

of teachers and students during instruction and the use of various technologies

to facilitate student-teacher and student-student communication (Britannica, 2016).  Many things

affect emotion including the sudden change of the situation. The sudden transition from face-to-

face to distance learning affected the emotion of the students either positively or negatively. In

this manner the present researcher was motivated to determine the emotions being felt by the

grade 11 STEM students during this learning method.

According to the result of the data gathered from the online survey conducted by the

researcher, several observations were made. Table 1 had the data on emotions felt by the grade

11 STEM students during distance learning. As revealed in Table 1 stressed ranked first among

all the emotions. This was followed by frustrated, confused, unhappy, hopeless, nervous,

anxious, worried, uncomfortable, lonely, disappointed, troubled, mad, panicked, irritated,

excitement, dislike, and satisfaction.
