1. What is ethics? Give three.

a. Ethics of communication is how the person uses language, media and other medium to create
relationships that are guided by one's moral and values.

b. According to Mandelbaum (2020), Ethical communication is a type of communication that is


predicated upon certain business values, such as being truthful, concise, and responsible with one’s
words and the resulting actions.

c. As stated by Laserna (2012), ethics deals with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the
rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness to the motives and ends of
such actions.

2. Why do you think there should be ethics in communication? Give three.

a. In order for ideas to be credible and shared properly

b. to be able to consider one's values and morals before communicating

c. to enhance credibility, improve the decision-making process and allow for trust between the two
communicators

3. What problems can arise when people are not ethical in their communcation practices? Give four.

a. There will be an argument because of miscommunication or misinterpretation.

b. Wrong information might be given

c. Ideas won't be understood properly when delivered to the audience

d. Resulting actions, response or feedback will be different from what we want it to be
