Title: Multi-functional Solar-Powered Motor Boat out of Plastic Bottles.

Introduction:

World population grows for an average of 1.0875% per year since 2017 to year 2020
(WORDOMETERS.INFO, 2021) varyingly the rapid increase of distressing water
pollution. Based on the data gathered in 2016, approximately 242 million tonnes of
plastic waste were disposed by humans . (DATATOPIC.WORLDBANK.ORG 2021).
According to McKinsey, In 2015 an average of whopping 2.7 million tons are
generated in Philippines and 10% of among the plastic wastes is estimated arrive in the
ocean. And the dominating plastic waste arising in the said country came from plastic
bottles of coke(MONGBAY.COM, 2018). Although simultaneous clean up drives
produced efficient way of reducing garbage and the tidying up our surroundings,
However we can't ignore the fact that such plastic won't easily be reduced. So then,
Government's green movement advocates the reuse, reduce and recycle as a key
element to resolve the problem
Recycling was seen as the pioneer among the potential alternatives to the
extensive use of unreducible materials. Papers, Metals, Glass & Plastic bottles and etc.
are some of the prominent benefactor of recycling in the modernizing era. In plastic
industry, a quite number of local and international manufacturers has gone leasing large
expo of wide variety of recycling plastic waste such as shredding, re-melting & casting,
and even producing newer platforms like shoes maid up of plastic waste and a lot
more(LEIGHTON M., 2019). Furthermore Engineer and Scientist continually wracking
up their brains to produce and develop advance technologies in resolving this issue.
In this Study, Researchers ought to design and develop a prototype of an efficient
motorboat out of plastic bottles of coke with the help of renewable energy. Since two
underlying concept has already been undertaken, which is the solar powered motorboat
and a manually-paddled plastic bottle boat, researchers think of a way in combining this
two concepts and adding new designs.

Due to the worsening state of plastic waste the researchers seek out to develop an
logical design of a cost-efficient type of motorboat. The project aims to provide our local
fishermen and local marine rescue teams an affordable and eco-friendly modernized
motor boat with much lesser maintenance.

Project Description

Researchers were expected to contribute in the advocacy of green movement with the
help of the such project. In this Study, the researchers ought to develop a handful eco-
friendly water vehicle that will ignite the movement to lessen and dismantle the arising
plastic bottle wastes.
The aimed Multi-functional Solar-Powered Motor Boat will be different from the existing
solar motor boats because it is mainly crafted out of recycled water bottles and
reinforced by a bamboo.
The electrical operation shall include the following: 200 wattage of solar panel, 200Ah
24 volts deep cycle battery, 30A solar charge controller, 200-500w of water proof DC
motor, throttle and switches. It will also include an GPS tracker in case of a sudden
accident, banana jacks for extra LED lightings, cigarette lighter socket for USB
charging, water proof box and also the safety parameters, such as fuse and DC circuit
breaker. Albeit the system is full off-grid DC mechanism it can also be charge to AC
using 24v charger, during rainy season and cloudy weathers.
The estimated run time; Since an average sun hours per day in a whole year is
approximately 4 hours here in Philippines, it then can run freely at max speed. with
charged battery alone, it can produce a span of 6-8hours a ride.
