PENTAGRAM

Book Proposal for a Supernatural Thriller

written by
Martin Olson & Casey Olson

--Overview:  Pentagram is a horror thriller in three parts that takes place over a sixty-year
period in Washington D.C.  The action takes place in and around the White House and
Congress.

The book’s premise is a mash-up of American History with Horror:

 What if the Founding Fathers unknowingly hired an architect to design Washington

D.C. who was a Satanist?
 And what if that evil architect embedded a giant pentagram in the streets of D.C.,
creating an occult tool that evil forces could use to influence the United States
government?

The mind-blowing part:  What if these “what-ifs” are true?

Historical fact: The street system of Washington D.C., designed by the architect occultist
Pierre Charles L’Enfant, forms a giant, physical pentagram shape, clearly visible from the air.

Our fictional conceit: Since the base arm of the pentagram (known to occultists as the
“Goats Head”) intersects the center of the White House, its supernatural power amplifies a
rash of increasingly bizarre, supernatural events in DC.

--The Authors:

Martin Olson and Casey Olson are a father-son writing team who have worked together on
plotting and constructing stories as long as they can remember.  Recently they
collaborated informally on plotting the comic horror novel The Conquest of Heaven for
Feral House Books, the sequel to Martin’s first book Encyclopaedia of Hell, about an
invasion of earth by demons. Notably, Warner Bros bought the film rights to Encyclopaedia
of Hell through Mad Chance Films.

Martin’s most recent films are Disney Plus’ Phineas and Ferb: Candace Against the
Universe, and the Netflix animated film Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling.

In Pentagram, they enjoyed their first formal collaboration writing a novel together, and
have discussed collaborating on several more.

--Loglines of the Three Sections of Pentagram

In each of the two sections, our core group of characters discover a different
supernatural threat to the US government and to the world, threats augmented by the
giant Pentagram. After several decades, our lead characters meet again in the third and
final section, and are finally able to destroy the evil symbol which has been radiating
ancient evil at the center of Washington D.C. for three hundred years.

The loglines of each section:

1. PENTAGRAM: THE SECRET ROOM

The first section is about a demon from hell who uses the giant pentagram as a sort
of “occult elevator” to propel him into the White House. It includes terrifying ghosts
unleashed by the giant pentagram, the secret history of occult practices among America’s
Founding Fathers, and even hints of a vampire presence in Washington politics which
emerges in Book 2.

2. PENTAGRAM: THE BLOOD ALIGNMENT

The second book fictionalizes the secret occult bloodlines of the senior Democrats
and Republicans in Congress. The unusual DNA of the core Democrats evolved
biologically from a European race of vampires, and that of core Republicans evolved from a
Neanderthal race akin to zombies. In a rare cosmic alignment, the two bloodlines,
like werewolves during a full moon, become agitated and attack each other in a bloodbath
that our heroes must stop.

3. PENTAGRAM: THE UNMASKING

The third and final book in the series is about an alien invasion, but this invasion consists
of only four, powerful, shape-shifting aliens. In a long-term invasion plan, one of the aliens
secretly enters US politics; the three others pose as his wife and children. Becoming a
powerful senator, the alien and his “family” campaigned for president, and eventually, as
Book 3 begins, becomes the President Elect. A number of our protagonists from Books 1 &
2 learn the truth about the imposters and work against impossible odds to stop them from
pushing forward their Alien Agenda to influence world politics.

--A Note on the Tone and Branding:

Each section of the novel is increasingly preposterous, but as in Abraham Lincoln:Vampire

Hunter, each is presented in a straight manner as a serious action-thriller. Since the
Pentagram’s presence underlies the plot of each section, the occult symbol is our proposed
brand logo for the series.

--A Breakdown of the Three Sections

BOOK 1 – PENTAGRAM: THE SECRET ROOM

The Past: In the 1860’s, Abraham Lincoln’s wife Mary Todd held eight séances in the White
House, one of which Lincoln attended. We use this little-known historical fact to propel our
story forward: When Mary Todd’s spiritual medium tries to raise the spirit of Mary’s dead
child, she accidentally summons up a blood-thirsty demon (based on Pierre L’Enfant, a
historical Washington D.C. occultist) who tries to kill Lincoln. Lincoln and two ministers in
attendance, brandish crosses and recite the Lord’s Prayer (as in The Exorcist), and manage
to force the evil spirit into the tiny White House Chapel. They seal the chapel by lining its
doors and walls with Bible pages, crosses and symbols of world religions. Lincoln orders
workmen to further seal the chapel with brickwork, then erases it from the White
blueprints, hiding the secret room from all historical records.

The Present: Olivia Carson, thirteen year-old daughter of newly-elected and widowed
President William Carson, moves into the White House with her cat amid major
renovations. Olivia and her Dad have become emotionally estranged after the death of
Olivia’s Mom. She wishes her Dad had the parenting skills her Mom had had to inspire love
and respect in their relationship. But he doesn’t. He was too busy campaigning for the
Senate while his wife practically raised their daughter single-handedly.

When Olivia settles into her new bedroom, her cat chases a mouse (which had found its
way in via the construction) through a loose board in her closet behind the wall space.
Olivia squeezes through to find her cat, but instead finds Lincoln’s secret room. She kicks
open the door to the crumbling chapel door and unknowingly frees L’Enfant’s ghost into
the White House.

As Carson conducts business as usual in the White House, the demonic spirit of Pierre
L’Enfant, who died in prison in the 1790’s for attempting to assassinate George
Washington, tries to murder President Carson in revenge. Bizarre accidents begin to
happen in the White House, endangering the President. Barely escaping death each time
thanks to his Secret Service Agents, Carson and his staff are on edge, wondering if these
“accidents” could possibly be assassination attempts.

Carson is awakened in bed at night with a sharp pain in his foot. He turns on the light and
sees a tiny trickle of blood on his foot. Puzzled, he looks over the foot of the bed and sees
Olivia’s cat sitting there, staring at him strangely. Puzzled, he goes back to sleep as the cat
sits motionless, staring at him. Spooked, he tries to shoo it away, but the cat is there all
night, staring.

Over the next few days, Olivia and her Dad grow further and further apart, and she begins
to notice strange behavior on his part, things she can’t explain or understand.

Meanwhile the security team have been investigating the accidents, and have a suspicion
that Olivia might actually be responsible for some of them.  With this troubling thought in
mind, the Chief of Staff sends her to Dr. Neil Amesly, a renowned child psychologist who is
also a history buff.

Olivia tells Amesly about the tiny chapel she discovered, and Amesly is fascinated. As he
and Olivia research White House records for any records or blueprints of the hidden
chapel, L’Enfant is at work creating terrifying “accidents” and bouncing from person to
person on staff, possessing them and making them endanger the President.  The
manifestations escalate to terrifying proportions, threatening the security of the White
House.

Through his research of historical records, Amesly discovers the origin of the secret chapel.
1794: In the swampland that will later become Washington DC., Architect Pierre L’Enfant
won President George Washington’s contest to design the fledgling nation’s capital city.
Unbeknownst to the Founding Fathers, L’Enfant was secretly a Satanist. Amesly shows
Olivia a street map. It’s clear that L’Enfant subtly adapted the street design of D.C. into a
giant pentagram, a powerful symbol which Satanists use to focus their power and summon
evil forces.

Flashback in history: When L’Enfant refused to show his revised blueprints of the city to the
Founding Fathers, Washington fired him and refused to pay him. Enraged, L’Enfant tried to
kill Washington and his wife in their sleep with a butcher’s knife. Guards grabbed L’Enfant
and dragged him screaming to jail.

Seeking revenge, L’Enfant hung himself in his cell with a note pinned to his chest: “Vengeance
shall be mine.” What Washington didn’t know was, the giant pentagram in the streets of D.C
would serve as a portal to bring L’Enfant from hell, in effect an elevator from hell to earth to
wreak his revenge.

In a thrilling climax, a high-ranking secret service agent is finally possessed by L’Enfant and
tries to kill Carson, Olivia and Amesly.  In the terrifying battle, Carson sacrifices himself for
his daughter and dies.
In the bloody melee, the secret service agent is crushed in the Whit House elevator, after
which L’Enfant’s spirit leaves the agent and is sucked back to Hell. In the wake of the chaos,
a fire starts and part of the White House burns to the ground.

The supernatural assassination attempt is, of course, covered up. The cover story is that
Carson died from a heart attack and the fire began because of the White House
renovations.

Book 1 ends with a national day of mourning as Olivia attends her father’s funeral. Heart-
broken, she misses her Dad, wishing she could see him again—and not realizing that this
might happen sooner than she thinks.

BOOK 2 – PENTAGRAM: THE BLOOD ALIGNMENT

Book 2 begins with the President’s State Funeral as he is mourned by Olivia and by the
world.

20 years later: Olivia Carson is now thirty-four. After the series of deadly supernatural
occurrences in her childhood, culminating in her father’s death, Olivia now lives in
seclusion as a librarian and an expert in the occult.

Back in D.C., we meet Gerald Rampart, an 18 year-old senate intern, newly hired by his
uncle, the Democrats’ oldest and most powerful Good Old Boy, Senator Stephan Haggis.
Gerald meets Rachel, a shy girl who is also a senate intern. Rachel is a social media advisor
as well as a distant relative of the leader of the Republican party and Haggis’ enemy,
Senator Alfred Rampart. Rachel uses her computer expertise, as well as her hacking skills,
to assist her Republican bosses.

Like Romeo and Juliet, Gerald and Rachel fall in love. But their feuding great uncles forbid
them to see each other for fear they’d share each party’s political secrets. While sneaking
off to take a walk in the park, Gerald and Rachel do share secrets, but not political ones,
personal ones. It seems that Gerald is worried about his great uncle and his closest friends.
Gerald has found weird antique books in Haggis’ briefcase and syringes and vials of animal
blood in his desk drawer. And Rachel has accidentally witnessed strange rites
surreptitiously performed by Senator Rampart and his elderly colleagues, ugly rituals she
doesn’t understand.

Gerald and Rachel are disturbed and need to tell someone and get advice. They find a
sympathetic, but understandably skeptical, ear in a young and straightforward senator
named Harold Gleason. Since he’s a friend, and a political Independent, they feel they can
tell him everything. Gleason listens discreetly, and reminds them that while politicians are
not normal people, they are not monsters. He winks. “Except for when they’re
campaigning.”

For Rachel, that’s strike one against Gleason. She hates winkers.
Meanwhile at Stanford University, Carl Greenberg, a brilliant 30 year-old biology nerd has
discovered two previously-unknown strands of DNA which have only been found in the
Washington D.C. area. While in DC to research this peculiar DNA, Carl meets Gerald and
Rachel by chance, and they confide in him their suspicions. At the same time, Carl’s
research suggests that the core Democrats and Republicans may be the source of the
strange strands of DNA.

With Carl’s help, Gerald and Rachel trick their bosses into giving them DNA samples. Carl
analyzes them, and is astounded that their bosses not only possess the two weird strains of
DNA, but are their biological source. When Carl learns of the senators’ weird behavior and
rituals involving blood and eating, he has a hunch.

They go to a library outside of D.C. to track down an expert in the occult—Olivia Carson, the
President’s daughter from Book 1, now in her thirties. When Carl shows Olivia a
holographic projection of the strange DNA signatures of the core politicians, she recognizes
the unusual shapes from her occult studies. She finds an ancient book and projects
holograms of two old engravings showing the occult symbols for zombies and vampires.

Amazingly, the vampire symbol matches up with the shape of the Democrats’ DNA, and the
symbol for zombies matches the Republicans’ DNA. Olivia reviews the anecdotal evidence
they shared and reaches a bizarre conclusion: the democrats’ genetic material traces back
to a blood-drinking race of European vampires, and the Republican DNA to a cannibal race
of Neanderthals. Although both races were mythic, some occult scholars have gathered
evidence that the two ancient races actually existed. (Although Rachel and Gerald are
distant relatives of the rival party leaders, they still feel a faint tugging on their psyches by the
cosmic configuration/alignments…)

Meanwhile, back in Congress, we set up that the Chief Lobbyists are being controlled by
each core group of Democrats and Republicans as their “familiars,” their servant-slaves
who are intricately linked to each party due to psychic manipulation, and are controlled by
them.

At the same time, there are dangerous worldwide political events that seem to be leading
the most powerful nations to the brink of a world war.

Unfortunately, on the evening next Saturday, the tension builds to what might be a nuclear
war at the end of the week, at the same time as these two cycles line up for the first time in
history.

Gerald, Rachel and Carl don’t believe in Vampires and Zombies, of course. It’s too
ridiculous. They make fun of Olivia’s theory. Olivia, who doesn’t suffer fools gladly, says
she’s done with them and tells them to get out.

Meanwhile, an annual Political Brunch Party is being planned at the Willard

Intercontinental Hotel. This year the rivalry between the two parties is worse than it has
ever been. Votes have been locked and neither party can get anything through. So the topic
of this year’s brunch is a Bipartisan Get-Together to let both parties chill out and hopefully
rekindle their friendships, talking to each other to end the deadlock.

A week before the brunch, Senators Haggis and Rampart--with fifteen elderly Republicans
and fifteen elderly Democrats--meet secretly because of a “medical challenge” both groups
face. From their muted discussion, we learn that the unusual DNA of both parties are
"triggered" (perhaps only once a century) by rare planetary alignments, or sunspots, or
polar shifts etc. When these planetary events occur, both parties are instilled with
bloodlust, like a werewolf during the Full Moon, who then must be chained up for the safety
of himself and others.

Amazingly, three of these "alignments" are about to happen at the same time for the first
time in recorded history. So all of the core Senators from both parties will have to lock
themselves up, guarded by discreet assistants, until the alignment passes. If they don’t the
feral senators will attack anyone in sight and there will be an animalistic bloodbath like
none ever seen before.

Unfortunately, the core senators on both sides MUST attend the bipartisan brunch, so what
can they do? In the meeting they agree on a pact. They will attend the brunch, then arrange
a fake food poisoning incident. The thirty elderly, about-to-be-triggered senators will then
have an excuse to leave the banquet. When the alignment kicks in, they’ll already be
sequester in separate rooms and have their aids chain themselves up and seal the doors so
that they won’t be detected until the alignment passes the next morning.

Now we reveal that Senator Gleason, who previously befriended our four heroes, was just
using them to learn “dirt” on the core senators of both parties. When Gleason learns of the
senators’ plan to sequester themselves, and their bizarre reasons for doing it, he sees an
opportunity to cause a scandal which he could later use to his political advantage. Gleason
steals the keys to the rooms and lets the senators-transformed-into-monsters loose. And if
a scandal ensues, Gleason will be positioned to take power in the senate.

The senators’ rooms are on the same floor as the banquet. Each party’s rooms are on
opposite sides of the banquet room, which is in the center of the hotel. When the older
senators excuse themselves from “food poisoning,” all the younger senators and their wives
carry on their festivities in the banquet room.

Meanwhile, Rachel uses her hacker skills to blackmail one of the Democrats’ aids (who
knows about his bosses’ plan) and forces him to spill the beans. He reluctantly reveals that
the old guys he works for have some kind of blood deficiency in their DNA, and that the
Republicans also have a genetic defect, but one which makes them go into a violent
“hypnogogic” state once in a while, during which they have to be heavily sedated. “The
simplest way I can explain it, even though it sounds ridiculous, is that the Democrats act like
vampires and the Republicans act like zombies.”

Rachel and Gerald are thunderstruck. (They don’t know that as we speak, Senator Gleason
is freeing the monsters from their rooms.) They realize that Olivia was right all along. They
call her and ask her to come to Willard Hotel immediately. Still angry at them, Olivia tells
them good luck and angrily hangs up.

Now the alignment begins. The affected senators begin to shriek, losing their minds as they
go feral in their rooms.

When the senators are freed, they follow Haggis and Augustin, who instinctively pick up
their ancient enemies’ scent and run towards each other and into the banquet room. Crazed
with bloodlust, the monsters begin a battle to the death as the younger (human) senators
and their wives flee for their lives.

Our heroes hear the commotion, rush into the banquet room and find that a bloody melee
has begun. (Note: Since zombies and vampires are immortal, although they may be
dismembered and have to have prosthetic limbs, none of them actually die.)

When our heroes rush into the fray, Carl acts heroically but is killed. Rachel is in danger
and Gerald tries to save her, but fails, and Rachel is killed tragically. Heart-broken and
exhausted, Gerald is about to be killed by the crazed monsters, when suddenly Olivia bursts
into the banquet room. She rushes into the fray and, in a crazy act of zombie- and vampire-
killing bravery, saves Gerald.

The alignment wears off and the dazed and bloody senators quickly return to their rooms.
The senators use their power to seal and clean-up the hotel, and incident is covered up
related to food poisoning. Senator Gleason, having double-crossed everyone, is able to gain
power in the senate. Gerald and Olivia reconcile, but Gerald was seriously injured in the
carnage, and confined for life to a wheelchair.

Epilogue in italics.  Arlington National Cemetery in the dead of night. We view the elegant
tombstone of the late President William Carson, Olivia’s father. Suddenly the tombstone
shakes and rumbles strangely.  Then the grass and dirt are pushed up powerfully from
beneath the grave by what can only be described as supernatural strength. Out of the grave
and the dirt rises a powerful figure wearing the suit he was buried in. It’s the corpse of
President William Carson, somehow re-animated. Carson’s well-dressed carcass staggers
away from the gravesite and vanishes into the night.

BOOK 3 – PENTAGRAM: THE UNMASKING

The final section begins 20 years after the end of Book 2.  Unlike the previous two sections,
Book 3 begins by intercutting three stories:

--Gerald is now a successful young senator, 40’s—confined to a wheelchair due to his

injuries at the melee at the end of Book 2.

--Olivia, now in her 50’s, has returned to her scholarly studies of the occult and ancient
books.  Since the children of former First Families only have secret service protection until
they are sixteen, lately Olivia has grown increasingly paranoid, suspecting that someone is
following her, watching her. Worried about mental illness due to her troubled background,
she hires a therapist and vents to him about the deaths of the Mom and Dad, and the
terrifying things that happened forty years ago in the White House.

--Senator Harold Gleason has over the past twenty years amassed enormous charisma and
political clout, culminating in a presidential race and a landslide victory.  Now the President
Elect, Gleason, his wife and two children are the most popular First Family since JFK. The
economy booms, the world is once again looking to America as a leader in world politics.

Gerald, an old friend of Gleason’s, helps advise the President Elect as he moves his family
into the White House prior to the inauguration. As he does, Gerald becomes the First
Family-Elect’s closest friend, with many popular photo-ops, helped by Gerald’s unusual
presence as a wheelchair-bound senator.

But soon Gerald notices something strange about Gleason and his family. Impossible
though it sounds, Gerald is sure that he sees different members of the family at different
times slightly change their appearance. Gerald is certain it’s just his mind playing tricks on
him, since he’s been having physical problems with his legs as he grows older.

But things get stranger as the family exhibits other odd behavior. For example, the secret
service are perplexed that different members of the First Family-Elect have gone missing at
odd intervals. At meals, none of them ever seem to drink liquids. There is a strange odor to
them when they pass you in the hall…

But when Gerald peeks in on the First Family Elect and sees them disappear, he decides to
talk about this with the only person who might understand, even though he hasn’t seen her
in twenty years…Olivia Carson.

Gerald goes in search of Olivia, who is now in her fifties, and find that she has had a mental
breakdown and is in an insane asylum.  Gerald visits her in the asylum, and finds that she
still has a secret service agent guarding her at the asylum, Agent Curt Griffith. Because of
her mental illness, Olivia becomes a genius in identifying paranormal entities. There’s a TV
on in the rec room, and when she sees the president elect on TV for the first time, her
psychic senses are triggered, and she looks at him in shock.

Olivia: “He’s not right… something is WRONG with him…”

Gerald tells her the strange things he’s seen at the White House. What does it mean?
Immediately Olivia says it sounds like a ridiculous sci-fi story: The President-Elect and his
family are really shape-shifting aliens impersonating Gleason and his family. The more they
talk, the more this seemingly impossible hypothesis sounds possible. They’ve already
determined that vampires and zombies are the result of specific variants in their DNA, so
why not shape-shifting aliens?
The circumstantial evidence is strong enough so they go to the FBI and tell the Director
everything. He tells them the FBI can’t launch an investigation on the President elect
without hard evidence, despite the fact that Gerald is a senator and Olivia’s a president’s
daughter. Besides, Gerald seems rather unstable, and Olivia was just released from an
insane asylum, so an investigation is not going to fly. In order to warrant an official FBI
Investigation, Gerald and Olivia would have to have incontrovertible proof.

With nowhere else to go, Gerald and Olivia tell Olivia’s Bodyguard Curt what happened.
(Curt has been newly assigned to Olivia at the asylum; they have a stormy relationship
because she doesn’t want a bodyguard.) Curt agrees to help them.

When the First Family are out of the White House on a Presidential visit, Curt uses his
secret service ID to search through the presidential residence. In the little girl’s room, Curt
finds a map to a “vehicle” that is hidden inside Sugarloaf Mountain, a half hour from
Washington D.C.  He shows it to Gerald and Olivia.  She and Curt agree to follow the map in
a two-person drone, since Gerald is in a wheelchair. They’ll bring back proof while Gerald
watches them on skype from his office. The skype recording will also be their proof, but
Olivia and Curt will need to bring back physical evidence.

As Gerald watches them on his phone, Olivia and Curt fly to Sugarloaf, follow the map and
find the hidden cave.  Inside the cave they are shocked to find the “vehicle” from the map.
It’s a large, bizarre-looking, alien ship. They enter and quickly explore the ship. In the alien
med lab they make a grotesque discovery: the four bodies of the Gleason family, murdered
twenty years ago and kept intact in cryogenic chambers.

Although sickened by the dead adults and children, they press on. Curt turns on an alien
device which hums and projects a medical hologram showing how the aliens use the frozen
human tissue as a stem-cell base to “shape-shift.” Akin to a shape-changing octopus, they
are not only able to transform into an exact biological duplicates of the Gleason family, but
also to simulate their human growth over the past twenty years. (The aliens live for
hundreds of years, so they were prepared to carry out a twenty-year plan to take over
earth.)

Olivia and Curt now need physical evidence to bring back. They try to remove various alien
tech devices, but due to the ship’s security system, the devices won’t budge. Frustrated,
Curt gets an idea. He opens the cryogenic chamber and removes Gleason’s head which has
been separated from the body. The head would prove that Gleason is dead and that the
president elect is an imposter. He shoves the head in his duffle bag. Now to bring their
proof to the FBI director.

Meanwhile in Gerald’s apartment, four figures appear and grab Gerald. It’s “Gleason” and
his family, actually the four shape-shifting aliens, who were alerted that their ship was
compromised, and followed the skype signal to Gerald’s apartment. “Gleason” plays the
skype video of Olivia and Curt finding their spaceship on Gerald’s laptop. The aliens agree
that two of them will stop Olivia and Curt and retrieve the stolen head while the other two
stay with Gerald.

In an alien flying craft, the aliens intercept and chase our heroes in the drone. An exciting
chase scene ensues through Washington D.C. ending in the capture of Olivia and Curt. The
aliens take them to Gerald’s office. There the four aliens reveal their invasion plan.

The aliens explain that they come from a planet which was poisoned by over-population
and war. The small group of four left their planet in search of a safe haven, a place to
survive. They need to find a civilization where they would be at the top of the food chain,
without needing to use mass violence against the native inhabitants.

The aliens explain further that they are not taking over to rule us, they are taking over to
save us. They know how to solve the energy crisis, global warming and world hunger. Their
intention is benevolent. They want the planet to be happy and healthy so that they can live
here.

But there is another important goal, one that surprises Gerald, Olivia and Carl.  The aliens
discovered through their quantum instrumentation that the most powerful nation on
earth--the United States--has evil physically embedded at the core of its power, in the street
system of Washington D.C.  As in the well-known sci-fi trope, the aliens’ "magic" is merely
far-advanced science, and that the focusing power of the pentagram is a future scientific
principle. And since this pentagram has been charged with Evil Intention for hundreds of
years, it must be completely eradicated from Washington D.C. in order for the planet to
thrive.

Of course, the aliens’ plans must remain secret. Unfortunately this means that Gerald, Olivia
and Curt will have to be eliminated. The aliens apologize for the necessity of killing them,
activate their weapons and say their farewells.

But at that moment, an unexpected presence, whom we have seen hints of trailing our
heroes throughout Book 3, bursts in and interrupts the aliens. It’s the resurrected John
Carson, the dead President, and Olivia’s father.

Olivia is utterly shocked. “Dad…? You’re alive? But how--?”

Carson stares at her and we enter her mind as he psychically projects the answer into her
thoughts as a series of lightning-fast images:

 While he slept in the White House, Carson was bitten by Olivia’s cat, which was
possessed by the ghost of Pierre L’Enfant.
 L’Enfant, we now learn, carried the vampire DNA; the cat’s bite infected Carson and
put him into an undead sleep.
 Forty years later, he sensed the intense spiritual danger to his daughter, “woke” from
his undead sleep and tracked her down by hyper sense of smell. (Maybe here in the
flashback we could go into Carson's first person awakening sensing danger to his
daughter and following her "scent" etc.)
Now, with terrifying supernatural strength, Carson fights the aliens, saving his daughter
again. Gerald, Olivia and Curt grab the weapons and capture the aliens.

The lead alien says, “Although we would have killed your kind due to our moral imperative, we
are ultimately benevolent. If you kill us, the earth will be doomed. But if you allow us to take
over your planet disguised as your leader, we will use our technology to save the earth, save
humanity and save ourselves. The choice is yours.”

Gerald, Olivia and Curt look at each other.

Is he for real? The choice is ours?

Epilogue in italics:

 President-Elect Gleason is sworn in as President as his family watches proudly. So does
Gerald, Olivia and Curt in the crowd. And so does the world.

 TV journalists are stunned by a series of reversals of the world’s catastrophes: Nations

band together to begin to solve world hunger, to begin to reverse global warming, and
to erect energy towers designed to supply inexpensive power to anyone in the world
who can put up an antenna.

 Finally, in the dead of night, the four aliens are in their craft hovering over the White
House. They project beams onto the streets below, the streets which form the
Pentagram. The beams dissolve the “Goat’s Head” arm of the giant Pentagram, making
the massive occult symbol powerless, its evil effect on the US and on the planet
nullified.
