PERSONALITIES AND PROCESSES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH EDUCATION IN THE ERA

OF COVID-19

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic came as a game changer in every facet of human living. Sadly, the type
of turn-around it caused was not the positive or desirable kind. In order to curb the spread of the
virus and mitigate its effect, several measures were put in place. Though necessary, these
measures inadvertently disrupted several aspects of "normal" living. Our socialization reality was
disrupted, communication was truncated, mobility was affected, health was in panic, and humans
began to fear each other. Reports reveal that of the effects of the lockdown experience catalyzed
the development of negative personality processes such as depression, suicidal thoughts, drug
abuse, isolation, addictive behavior, escapism, and a host of others. As such, employing the
expository and analytic methodology, this paper seeks to reveal how the Covid-19 pandemic has
predisposed humans to the development of negative personality process; and to proffer ways in
which these undesirable personality processes can be managed via effective management of
health care education that will bring people to wellness, as well as into the know of the faceless
war at hand. Particularly, the paper recommends the development of micro-community health
response units in each locality, that will be available (offline and online) to attend the needs of
those facing challenges due to the lockdown. This will help forestall us being victims of the
lockdown efforts intended to preserve our lives, so that we can maximize the opportunities for
the best possible life, personality processes, and health that can be afforded within the Covid-19
era.
