Carinus was already in some sort of power being the son of the emperor Carus

His father rose to power when Emperor Probus died in combat.

Carinus was very well know for what he's done in Gaul

After a celebration he set out to the battle of Margus

Down fall of Carinus
The down fall of Carinus was multiple things. His father died wich had a mental
impact on him

He rushed battle and it was seen as very organized

People of room didn't like him well for his choices

He died when he was murdered by a officer that the emperor seduces his wife
Legacy
Carinus has a reputation as one of the worst emperors for reasons like

He had 9 wives and didn't pay attention to his first wife with his kids

after his death, Carinus' memory was officially condemned in the Roman
proceeding known as Damnatio Memoriae. His name, along with that of his wife,
was erased from inscriptions.

He was seen as a blood thirsy tyrant
