1. Battery S6 / S6 Edge

■ Symptom : Pouch(Foil) Damage

Cause & Problem
- The pouch of Battery may get damaged by burr of shield can on PBA
during disassembling or assembling the PBA.

Countermeasure
- If there is no green tape on the left side of battery, attach the new tape for every disassembly (plus 1 SVC).
- Attach the protection tape on left side of the new battery in case of replacement the new battery.

1. Battery S6 / S6 Edge

■ Symptom : Deformed Battery

Cause & Problem
- Deformed Battery may cause low performance such as short battery life or high temperature.

Countermeasure
- Replace the old battery to the NEW one in case of detaching the old battery.
(i.e. Broken Bracket, Defective Battery)
- Check the battery status(Usage cycle and ASOC) with SW Capture tool before replacement.
Do the visual inspection and replace the battery in case of any damage or deform.

2. Sim Tray S6

■ Symptom : SIM tray ejection defect

Cause & Problem
- There is SIM tray ejection defects due to Rear case interference during ejecting SIM tray.

Countermeasure
- Attach a tape on the SIM socket in case of no tape on it. (Only for S6)

3. Sub MIC S6

■ Symptom : No Mic sound during Speaker call

Cause & Problem
- Sub MIC defects on SM-G920 series may be caused by Crack of PCB inside.
This crack can occur by pressing the PCB area of Sub mic.

Caution
- Do NOT strongly push on the PCB area of Sub mic after repair receiver module.

4. Receiver S6

■ Symptom : No Sound or Noise during call

Problem
- Receiver FPCB can be damaged during disassembling or assembling.

Caution
- Be careful not to give any damage on the FPCB during handling the module.

5. Back Glass S6 / S6 Edge

■ Symptom : Scratch on the coating film

Problem
- The film of Back glass backside can be damaged by using any sharp tools,
such as tweezers, knife or disassembly stick.

Caution
- Use carefully Disassembly stick to detach the Back Glass or tape residue.
- Do NOT place on the Rear case edge part without tape.
- The film of Back glass backside can be damaged by fingernails.
- Avoid the Rear case edge part interference during attaching Back Glass.

5. Back Glass S6 / S6 Edge

■ Symptom : Spot, Scratch or Stabbed mark

Problem
- Back glass may be damaged by cosmetic defect of Rear case and others during assembling.

Caution
- Inspect closely the appearance of Rear case and others,
such as distorted Rear case, Camera deco, NFC antenna before assembling Back glass.

6. OCTA S6

■ Symptom : LCD Panel Crack

Problem
- The LCD panel of OCTA backside can be cracked by improper way to handle.

Caution
- Do NOT push the Disassembly stick into LCD panel.
- Fold Cu Tape in the direction of 180º during detaching from LCD backside.

6. OCTA (UB) S6 Edge

■ Symptom : Projection or Black spot on the Window display

Problem
- Tiny projection on the window may appear due to external substance inside the device.
- Black spot on the display may appear due to LCD panel crack.

Caution
- Do visual inspection of LCD backside and Bracket outward appearance before assembling OCTA.

7. RF Coaxial cable S6 / S6 Edge

■ Symptom : Low RF performance

Problem
- Unstable assembly of coaxial cable can cause low RF performance
or mechanical quality issue.

Caution
- Grip the coaxial cable with device and do visual check after assembly.
- The head of coaxial cable should not contact with C-clip on the Sub PBA.

8. Acceleration Sensor S6 / S6 Edge

■ Symptom : Acceleration Sensor operation defect

Problem
- Acceleration sensor can be damaged due to signal line crack inside the sensor.

Caution
- When connecting LCD connector: Press Camera connector during connecting LCD connector.
- Check the acceleration sensor in *#0*# test mode after assembling the device.
If the image is not rotated, it is the acceleration sensor defect.

9. C-Clip S6 / S6 Edge

■ Symptom : Low RF performance

Problem
- C-clip on the PBA outside can be damaged or deformed due to improper PBA handling.
(ex. Folded due to gloves textile, Deformed due to pressing)
→ Can be caused low RF performance (Main antenna, Bluetooth, GPS or WIFI)

Caution
- Be careful not to interfere with outside of the PBA during handling the PBA.
