Singing Game Lesson Plan

Title: Rig A Jig Jig Grade Level: 2-4

Materials needed:

Procedure:
A.S: Listening: Instructions will be given, so students will listen to what
needs to be done.
Reciting: Being able to sing the song and recite what teacher taught students.
Rhythm: Keeping on beat.
Movement: Doing the moves that coincide with the lyrics of the song.

1. Tell students to sit down on their dots.


2. Teacher gets students attentions.
3. Teacher does vocalization in rote.
4. Students go along with teacher and follow vocalization.
5. Teacher gives instruction about the new song being learned.
6. Teacher teaches new song to students.
7. Teacher and students practice song until song is memorized.
8. Teacher demonstrates what the game is.
9. Teacher chooses student to help show students the game (with partner).
10. Students watch as teacher and other student demonstrate.
11. Student will clap or tap lap as the song is being performed.
12. Start practicing with all students.
13. Practice.
14. Ask students if they feel comfortable performing the song by themselves.
15. Maybe practice a few more times.
16. Perform song in one go.
17. Make sure all students get a turn.
18. Once everyone gets a turn, it’s done!

Closure: Ask students if they thought it was hard or easy. Ask them if they
like this song and game.
Educational Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will have learned how to
play and sing a new song. Students will work together to make a chain for the song.
