TREES
1. MANGO TREE :

• The trees are long-lived


• A large green tree, valued mainly for its fruits, both green and
ripe.
• Mango trees grow to 30–40 m (98–131 ft) tall, with a crown
radius of 10–15 m (33–49 ft).

• Mangifera indica, commonly known as Aam.

• Mango is one of the most popular of all


tropical fruits
• Mango trees can be a deciduous tree.

• Botanical name is MANGIFERA INDICA


2. Teak Tree:
• The teak tree large deciduous tree up to 40 m (131 ft) tall and are
evergreen.

• The larger leaves are of same the size of tobacco trees.

• The flowers are of white to bluish coloured and the fruit is of


papery and light brown in colour.

• Trunk diameters usually 3-5 feet.

• Teak is widely used in making furniture, boats, doors and windows


of a house.

• Its bark is considered very useful for a headache, stomach


problem, fevers and digestion.

• Is is also called saagaun.

• Botanical name: Tectona grandis.


3. Indian Rosewood:
• The rosewood is a kind of tree alternate rows up to an altitude
of about 25 m and has a diameter of about 3 m.

• This rosewood is a deciduous tree which grows straight.

• Flowers are of white and pink colours.

• Each part of the Neem trees is essential for different purposes.

• They are used to treat chicken pox and used in various medicines.

• Wood is also used in south India for furniture making.

• Neem can be used as fertilisers for different plants.

• It is deciduous, shedding many of its leaves during
the dry winter months.
• The fairly dense crown is roundish and may reach
a diameter of 20–25 m (66–82 ft).
5. Mahagony:

• Mahogany is used as astringent for wound


obtained from the bark.

• This is used as a remedy in diseases like anemia,


fever, dysentery, others.

• Furniture, boat, casket, musical instruments are


generally made from the wood of mahogany.

• Indian mahogany trees are found mostly all over


India.

• They have symmetrically round crown growing up


to 30-40 feet height.

CLIMBER
1. Money Plant (Devils’ Ivy)
• The money plant is a garden species no gardener can get enough of.

• Their minimalistic yet elegant look suits any type of garden and can be
planted in pots, high hanging baskets or as vines and climbing plants.

• is an evergreen vine growing to 20 m (66 ft) tall, with stems up to 4 cm (2 in) in


diameter.

2 . BOUGAINVILLEA

• Bougainvillea is a brilliantly vibrant thorny ornamental plant that is also known as


“Kagaz Ke Phool”

• Kagaz Ke Phool roughly translates to Paper Flowers, and


this name is rightly given to the plants, because of their
delicate petals that feel kind of like soft paper.
• Bougainvillea is a great plant to have because it can be
planted either indoors or outdoors, requires very normal
exposure to sunlight, and is quite easy to maintain.

• It also comes in a whole bunch of colors,

3. STAR JASMINE

• Sweet-smelling garden with a very pretty dash of white color here and
there.
• Jasmine flowers grow best in full sun, with well-drained soil and
enough organic fertilizers.

• In many cases, they are used in perfumery and other related


aromatic products for their sweet fragrance.

• The flame vine plants always grow in masses.

• Soil – rather light

SHRUBS
1. Boxwood (Buxus) Shrubs
• Low-growing, compact boxwood shrubs are perfect for foundation planting in your
front yard.

• Boxwood foundation plants have dense, lush evergreen foliage and bushy growth.

• The hardy low maintenance shrubs are easy to trim, and most cultivars don’t grow
higher than 3 or 4 ft. (1 – 1.2 m).
• Many boxwood varieties grow in full sun, partial shade, or full shade.

• Easy to grow boxwoods thrive in well-draining soil and are generally tolerant of
drought. The hedge plants thrive in zones 5 – 9
2. TUJA PLANT

• Thuja are evergreen trees growing from 10 to 200 feet (3 to 61 metres) tall .Width –
10’-12’

• The leaves are scale-like 1–10 mm long

• commonly known as arborvitaes.

• Colour : dark green

• Watering : Water thrice a week

• Light : full sun , part shade

• Soil : clay , normal

• Hindi name : Vidhya

3. Rose

• The rose is a type of flowering shrub.

• Its botanical name : Rosa


• The flowers of the rose grow in many different colors, from the well-known red
rose or yellow roses and sometimes white or purple roses.

• There are over 100 different species of roses.


• It may be as small as 1/2 inch across to a diameter of almost 7 inches.

4. Tagetes

• They are among several groups of plants known in English as marigolds

• Tagetes species vary in size from 0.1 to 2.2 m tall.

• Blooms naturally occur in golden, orange, yellow, and white colors, often with
maroon highlights.

• Floral heads are typically (1) to 4–6 cm diameter, generally with both ray florets and
disc florets.

• They have fibrous root.


5. Tulsi Plant or Holy Basil (Ocimum Tenuiflorum)

Tulsi is cultivated for religious and traditional medicine purposes, and also for
its essential oil.

• It is widely used as a herbal tea, commonly used in Ayurveda,

• many-branched subshrub, 30–60 cm (12–24 in) tall with hairy stems.

• Leaves are green or purple; they are simple, petioled, with an ovate blade up
to 5 cm (2 in) long,

• It is a highly revered plant in Hinduism.

• It is also a popular Vastu plant


GROUND COVER
1. Irish Moss:
• The most common pathway plants
• It is soft and is often used to surround stone walkways to give a more organic
• Natural feel to the garden.

• Temperature: 64 - 72F

• Transplant into the garden 6 - 9 inches apart.


• Germination is in 14 - 21 days
• It will be adaptable to mostly sunny locations in cooler climates or partial shade in
warmer climates.
CREEPING THYME (THYMUS SERPHYLLUM)

• It is a low, usually prostrate subshrub growing to 2 cm (1 in) tall with creeping


stems up to 10 cm (4 in) long.

• The oval evergreen leaves are 3–8 mm long


• The strongly scented flowers are either lilac, pink-purple, magenta, or a rare white,
all 4–6 mm long and produced in clusters.

• The plant sends up erect flowering shoots in summer


3. Ice Plant (Delosperma cooperi)
• The plant gets its common name from the way sunlight hits its leaves and makes
them look like they are bejeweled with ice crystals.

4. Sweet Woodruff (Galium odoratum)
• Sweet woodruff is most commonly used as a ground cover in shady areas.

white flowers

well worth the effort.

1 . Spider Plant
• The spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is considered one of the most
adaptable of houseplants and the easiest to grow.

• Spider plant, airplane plant, spider ivy, ribbon plant, Bernard’s lily
• 1–2 ft. tall and wide

• A graceful plant that makes a statement anywhere—from a tabletop


to a mantle, or with its lovely arching leaves as a hanging plant

• plant prefers temperatures between 60–80 degrees during the day and
above 55 degrees at night.
2 . Peace Lily

• Several species are popular indoor houseplants.

• It lives best in shade and needs little sunlight to thrive, and is watered
approximately once a week.

• The soil is best left moist but only needs watering if the soil is dry.

• The flowers are produced in a spadix, surrounded by a 10–


30 cm long, white, yellowish, or greenish spathe.

• They are evergreen herbaceous perennial plants with


large leaves 12–65 cm long and 3–25 cm broad.
3. ALOE VERA
• It is cultivated for agricultural and medicinal uses.

• The species is also used for decorative purposes and


grows successfully indoors as a potted plant.

• Aloe vera is a stemless or very short-stemmed plant growing to


60–100 centimetres (24–39 inches) tall, spreading by offsets.

• The leaves are thick and fleshy, green to grey-green, with some
varieties showing white flecks on their upper and lower stem
surfaces.
• The margin of the leaf is serrated and has small white teeth.

• The flowers are produced in summer on a spike up to 90 cm (35 in)


tall, each flower being pendulous, with a yellow tubular corolla 2–
3 cm (3⁄4–1 1⁄4 in) long.
4 . Lucky Bamboo Plant

• The lucky bamboo plant is one of the most popular plants that is known
for bringing good luck, prosperity and positive energy in the home.

• It has been the most popular indoor plant in India.

• It is not only a Vastu Plant but also a Feng Shui Plant.

• Although you can place a lucky bamboo anywhere in your


home but placing it in different corners has different
benefits.

• Botenical name : dracaena sanderiana

• Common name : Lucky bamboo, Chinese water bamboo, Soil : Water or moist
friendship bamboo, ribbon plant but well-drained soil

5 . Rosemary Plant (Salvia Rosmarinus)

• Rosemary is a woody and evergreen with the needle-like leaves,

• It has white, purple, pink or blue flowers. It is used as an indoors and


outdoors decorative plant.
• The leaves of Rosemary plants are used to flavor various foods.

• It also has potential health benefits

6. BOSTON FERN

• Botanical name : nephrolepis exaltata

7. Mass Cane

low amounts of light

• Placement Kitchen, Bathrooms, Bedrooms, Entryway

• Ideal Temperature for Mass Cane: 60-80°F (15-27°C) Min: 50°F (10°C)

• The common name for a Mass Cane is Corn Plant

• Mass Cane often grows between 1.2 to 1.8 metres tall with stalky stems and long, green
leaves featuring light yellow and green
8. CAT PLAM

• Cat Palms grow best in low light.

• It will also do very well in areas where it receives filtered light (partial shade).

• Indoors a south or east facing window would be ideal.

• Cat Palms will grow best in a moist environment, so it


is important not to allow the soil to dry between
waterings.

10. Jade Plant (Crassula Ovata)

• Jade plant care is easy and simple.

• Many people enjoy growing jade plants in their homes and offices, and they are
considered to be symbols of good luck.
• It has thick, shiny, smooth leaves that grow in opposing pairs along
the branches.

• Reaches stature heights of up to 2.5 metres.


• The most important factors to consider when growing jade houseplants is water, light,
temperature, and fertilizer.
• Never let a jade plant dry out completely. But also, do not water a jade plant

• They need full sun in order to grow


properly.
• Jade plants do best in day time temperatures of 65-75 F.
(18-24 C.) during the day and 50-55 F. (10-13 C.) at night.
• Fertilize your jade plant about once every six months.
