Statement of Work for Broadway Bound “Together Apart” Music Video

Purpose:
This document is the Statement of Work for an original music video (working title “Together
Apart”) that will be produced in May/June 2020 by the 40+ students, staff, and partners of
Columbia’s Broadway Bound Musical Theatre Company, the Midlands’ only performing arts studio
dedicated to educating young people (ages 3 to 20) in dance, voice, and acting for musical
theatre.

The purpose of the music video is:

1. To provide a message of hope and connection for families throughout South Carolina (and
possibly beyond); and
2. To allow the Broadway Bound family to demonstrate how we can be together even when
apart by singing and dancing together without actually being…together.

Key Elements for Inclusion in the “Together Apart” Video:

To satisfy the purpose noted above, we will combine:
a) an original song composed by Columbia native Michael Simmons, who has written for
dance companies, SCETV, and musical theatres in South Carolina, Atlanta, and Nashville;
b) direction and choreography by Dedra Daniels Mount, founder of the Broadway Bound
Musical Theatre Company and a director/choreographer/performer with more than 40
years’ experience in the Midlands;
c) musical arrangement, sequencing, and vocal recording by Columbia resident Nikea
Randolph, named a 2019 Emerging Composer by the LunART Festival based in Madison,
Wis.;
d) videography and editing by local social media talent; and
e) vocal and dance performances by individuals age 3 to adult.

Exercising Proper Public Health Precautions

To ensure the health and safety of all involved with this project:
1. Videography and audio recording, mixing, editing, etc., will be performed by single
individuals unless performed by a team composed of individuals who reside in the same
home.
2. Technical staff will wear face masks at all times.
3. Video shoots will take place outdoors or in open interior spaces where a minimum of six
feet distance will be maintained between all performers and the videographer.
4. Audio recording will take place in the Broadway Bound studio, which has sufficient room
to maintain safe distancing between the sound engineer and the vocalists. Microphones
will be cleaned whenever vocalists change.
