Learning foreign languages especially English is very important.

English is the universal language, that’s why we have to communicate using this language. We
have different nationalities all over the world, we have Mother Tongue that we used to speak when we
were young because that was what our native language. But during our school days, our teachers taught
us this foreign language, English! Why? They explained that we will need it as we apply in job, locally or
internationally.

I remember one scene of my elementary days, my teacher told us to give an example of

sentence using does. Then she called my male classmate and he stood up citing his answer, “Who does
your father?” and all of us laughed because in our Filipino translation it means that is his father a Satan?
That’s one of example how grammar affects the meaning of what you mean to say when we became
careless. However, our teacher still encouraged us to use English during our classes even we were not
using it perfectly because according to her, using English will make us used to speak and communicate
with confidence as time goes by: moreover, she reminded us not to make laugh for those who were
hard to speak or communicate in English because it would make them stop in practicing this language.

From then on, we focused ourselves learning more the grammar and the elements of speech
and how to use those in communication. And it is really true that if you can speak, understand and
communicate using this foreign language, you can survive in this fast-changing world.
