Informative Speech

Introduction:

addressing the audience.)

What does it take to write a persuasive speech? (10 second pause) How do you want to sell what you
are speaking to a wider audience? (another 10 second pause) Those are the things that I am going to
discuss with you today to prepare you in how to not only a successful speech writer but to deliver it in
an informative manner in which you will approach me afterwards to follow up because you are so
interested in what I am saying. The key aspects in achieving this is what I will discuss with you today,
which are establishing your credibility, building trust and knowing your audience as well as capturing
their attention.

I. I remember sitting in a large room filled with people, nervous because I did not know what to
expect from this meeting. However when the presenter came out, pitched a group of us on his
ideas all I remember is I was so enamored by his presentation, that when he asked who wanted
to sign up that I instantly and without hesitation raised my hand to be the first. Every time I
think about effective public speaking

In order to have an effective informative or persuasive speech, one must not only be fully prepared
along with visual aids and the way you are going to deliver it, but above all else you need to establish
your credibility and build trust with the audience this will give you more confidence and the ability to
confidently convey your message. You further need to know your audience and anticipate their
responses and or reactions with your presentation. Knowing your audience is the key to a successful
speech writing as well as delivery.
