Giraffes are big animals that live in Africa.


They are yellow and brown and they are
very tall. An adult giraffe can be more than 5
meters tall. A baby giraffe is 2 meters tall. Baby
giraffes can run when they are only 24 hours
old. Adult giraffes can run fast – 60 kilometers
per hour. This is important because lions eat
giraffes. Giraffes are vegetarians. They eat the
leaves of tall trees. They can also see very well.
Giraffes like to live in groups with 10 or more
other giraffes. They live for 25 years but some
giraffes only sleep 10 minutes each day!
