Howard Gardner, American psychologist, believed the conventional concept of

intelligence; such as the intelligences quality test, was narrow and restricted and
the measures of the IQ test often miss out on other intelligences skills that the
individual may practice. He came up with the 8 different frames of Mind such as
the Verbal skills (usage of word smart), Mathematical skills (dealing with
numbers), Spatial skills (ability to think in 3D, picture smart), Bodily kinesthetic
skills (expressing and manipulate through the body), Musical skills (sensitive to
rhythm and melody), Intrapersonal skill (to understand your own self),
Interpersonal skills (ability to understand others), and Naturalist Skills (ability to
observe and understand nature patterns). In the self assessment, I came out the
strongest in the musical skills, spatial skills, and have a strong ability in both
intrapersonal and interpersonal skills. As I am realizing now that music does have
an important role in my daily life. I am recalling that all the exams and the
projects that I was preparing for had a musical notes in the back playing. In my
experience, when I am listening to music while doing something, it enhances my
emotion state that allows me to perform better. Most of the time, it also helps in
learning and creating new things and recalling certain information. For example;
singing along a song had made me think back on happy moments and put me
through them which helped me do this assignment. As a teacher, I used to start
my class each morning with a song and exercise. As for spatial skills, I always had
an interest on how thing where supposed to look like. While jogging around in
Majdelyoun, the design of each building distracted my focus on exercising. Each
structure or building is representing in certain way that explain a lot about the
characters of individuals. During our free times back then, my friends and I used
to stroll in Mechref area to discover the well designed villas and its structures and
style. As I grew older, I have acquired both intrapersonal and interpersonal skills
that have helped as a Teacher. According to Triarchic Theory of intelligences by
Robert Sternberg are Analytical, Creative, and Practical. Practical was my most
dominant intelligence.
