The document discusses whether teachers should conduct research using students as subjects. It argues that research can help teachers choose the best teaching techniques for their classroom by considering students' backgrounds and abilities. This allows teachers to create differentiated lessons to meet student needs. The document also discusses an effective teacher, Susan Bradburn, who created a hands-on "museum school" where students work collaboratively in groups to gain real-world experience. Effective teachers find satisfaction in positively impacting students' development beyond academics by inspiring, guiding, motivating, and teaching life skills like problem-solving and emotional control.

1. Should teachers conduct research using their student as subjects?
“Teachers continue to learn as they teach.”
Since the 18th century, the teaching methodology is evolving as the
generation changes. There are several techniques of teaching that can be acquired by the different type of learners. In order to become an effective teacher, the teacher must do research to collect several data that will help in choosing the best suitable technique for the classroom. This will also ease the process of planning, designing, and organizing the lesson plans and classroom management. By doing such research, the teacher should take into consideration the background history, cultural and family situation of a student; for example, the knowledge of diverse cultural background. Through her observation, the teacher will be able to detect different ability among her students so she would be able to create strategies and techniques that best fit the student’s needs and abilities. Therefore, the effective teachers are able to use differentiated instruction.
2. In our case study, Susan Bradburn is representing an effective
teacher because she has created the museum school where she enables hands-on activity lesson. This makes it clear that those are doing are those are learning. By this creation, she allowed the students to work in groups, do collaborative work, help students learn and gain real-life experience firsthand. Teachers do not ask for any materialistic rewards in general; however, the satisfaction of self- achievement is reached when knowing that the lesson or knowledge to the different learner is adapted. There is nothing more rewarding for the teacher other than leaving a positive fingerprint impact on the students being inspired, guided, encouraged, motivated, improved, learned, loved and accepted. Thus, the teacher gets to create his/her own healthy and safe environment for the class where personal rules are set, develop a rapport with the student, flourish and create memories with the students and motivate them. The teacher does not only teaches students how to read and write (academically) but also teaches how to deal with a certain problem, control their emotions and their temper and enable forgiveness and teaches them how to Rawan Taan ( 20080073) Educational Psychology Activity love and help. Therefore, an effective teacher does not wear one hat where it teaches certain information, but reinforce and improve the character and develop certain skill in the student.
