Positive role of the Covid related with Professional development

The Covid for me has played a role mostly bad, I was at a point of my career where for the
first time, I was going to start touring with my guitar quartet, getting regular concerts and
release a Cd. I could have earned some money just giving concerts which it is usually very
difficult to achieve. We are still in that agency, so I guess we will have the opportunity some
day to do this, but this has made me realise how fortunate we were, working as performers.
At that point I was also stressed with it so when the Covid arrived and cancelled everything
we got I felt a bit of relief. But this whole situation made me more aware that my main goal is
to make a living out of music and play what I really like. So I set my own higher goals and
now I'm trying to reach very different goals as a soloist. Covid has given me more time and
tranquillity on many occasions to go deeper into certain music such as jazz and flamenco.
And it has also given me more time to compose and try to create a personal style. So in the
end this situation has made me grow a lot as a professional. Before, my quartet was the only
serious and professional thing I had in terms of music but now I think it's just another part of
it because I'm trying to create my own musical world with the Álvaro brand on it.
