service manual specifies the installation procedures, maintenance recommendations, and
troubleshooting tips in detail. Please read this manual carefully before use to help you maximize
your cooling comfort in a safe manner。

C. The ability of the air conditioner to maintain the desired inside temperature depends on the heat gain of the area
being cooled. Some preventative measures taken by the occupants of the vehicle can reduce the heat gain and
improve the performance of the conditioner. During extremely high outdoor temperatures, the heat gain of the
vehicle may be reduced by:
 Parking the vehicle in a shaded area;
 Using window shades (blinds and/or curtains);
 Keeping windows and doors shut and minimizing their usage;
 Avoiding the use of heat producing appliances.
 Properly insulating the vehicles exterior walls.

D. Operating on High Fan/Cooling mode will provide maximum efficiency in high humidity or high outside
temperatures.

1. OVERVIEW
1.1 Purpose
This air conditioner is widely applied in different vehicles such as Recreational Vehicles ,Campers ,Trucks ,
Construction Vehicles, and Other Specialty Vehicles and Equipment.

1.2 Features
▲ Excellent operation efficiency: this is a self-contained DC (direct current) air conditioner energized exclusively by
the vehicle’s battery pack dedicated to the air conditioner. No inverters, auxiliary power units, or generators are
needed. Reliance on the “grid” is not required. The batteries are charged when the vehicle is running; the batteries
are dis-charged when running the air conditioner.
▲ Environmental protection: R134a environmental-protection refrigerant is used in the unit, the most environmentally
friendly refrigerant in the market.
▲ Stable cooling effect: the rotating speed of the compressor in the air-conditioning system is constant, allowing the

working status and refrigerating effect to be stable.
▲ Rapid refrigerating/adjustable temperature: The efficiency of the compressor allows the environmental temperature
to be reduced to the desired comfort level by user in a short time.
▲ Module memory function: The air conditioner will automatically retain the last start status after start up to avoid the

▲ Delayed start: The compressor includes advanced technology to delay its start for 30 seconds, if necessary, when the
air conditioner is in cooling mode, to protect the compressor from damage.
▲ Under-voltage protection: if the air conditioner discovers that the voltage is lower than the set value in cooling mode,
the compressor will stop operating, and safely restart in three minute cycles. If it is discovered the voltage is lower
than the set value for the third time, the complete unit will close down for protection and display a fault code alert.

4. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING

The Unit should not be installed in a place where combustible gas is present. An accidental leak of
combustible gas may result in explosion or fire.
Correct electrical wiring connections(positive polar and negative polar of power)is necessary.
The roof-top air conditioner must be installed as directed within this manual; otherwise, it may
result in operating in-efficiencies, product and/or vehicle damage, and breach of warranty.
Consideration should be given of installing Unit by a qualified individual specially trained and
experienced in the installation of this type of equipment.

4.1 Installation preparation: Unpack air conditioner package and refer to packing list to assure all parts are
included. The outdoor unit must be placed on vehicle’s relatively flat roof, the air conditioner must be laid as shown in
Figure 6 and the air conditioner should not be inclined more than 8 degrees.

4.2 Installation Process

4.3 Installation method
(1) Installing the outdoor unit
The outdoor unit of air conditioner shall be directly installed at the opening port of 380mm by 260mm as shown in
Figure 7. Place the black sealing ring at the bottom of air conditioner between air conditioner and the entry opening of
the vehicle’s roof. Align the four M8 installation holes located at the bottom of air conditioner in four corners (square)
symmetry fashion as viewed looking up from inside the vehicle.

CAUTION
 Inspect the waterproof gasket to assure there is no leakage after installation. If leakage is detected, the
installation shall be re-performed to eliminate the leakage.
 A water-proof adhesive must be applied around the binding part between the waterproof gasket and the
vehicle roof to prevent water leakage. Do not use a waterproof adhesive applied with heat.
 For irregular and coarse roof tops, all gaps must be sealed with sealant to prevent water leakage.
 Test for leakage by pouring water around the opening after installation.
(2) Fix air out/air guiding frame:
2.1 That whether the air out/air guiding frame, which DL vehicle-mounted air conditioner is matched
with, is fractured or not shall be according to customer’s roof thickness. First of all, the customer shall
install air guiding frame in advance, insert air outlet of air guiding frame into the air outlet of panel
mounting support, with certain part exposed, try to install control panel and observe that the air outlet of
fracture air guiding frame never touches the control panel so as to determine length of fractured air
guiding frame.
2.2 After the length of fractured air guiding frame is determined, take down control panel and panel
mounting support, and install air guiding frame as shown in Figure 8.

(3) Fix and install frame
Have 4 maximum installation holes in indoor installation frame and the installation holes of outdoor unit
of air conditioner aligned at four M8 standard mounting bolts and fix the outdoor unit of air conditioner
with them tightly (the tightening degree: outdoor machine of air conditioner is reduced by 5~8mm), as
shown in Figure 8.

(3) Supply line connection


The supply line of the installed outside unit must be connected to control panel of indoor vent side.

Please pull the supply line from the outside unit before installation (properly tightened)

Figure 10, separate the air return opening and the air discharge opening of air
discharge side with the wind board, decide the height of the wind board according to thickness of vehicle top and
ensure that the other side of wind board is tightly attached to the chassis of outdoor unit of the air conditioner;
2. Securely connect the indoor and outdoor electrical wiring prior to panel installation (connecting the line terminal of
the panel of air conditioner must be connected securely).
3. Install air discharge panel to the installation frame with the supplied screw as shown in Figure 11.

(5) Install outdoor supply line


1. To connect the supply line of air conditioner, national standard copper wire of at least 10mm2 must be used to
connected with the supply line of air conditioner, positive polar and negative polar must be connected correctly (the
red supply line of air conditioner must be connected with positive polar and the black supply line must be connected
with negative polar). The maximum length of both positive and negative incoming lines is 10 m.
2. The matching air switch should be installed at the power supply end of air conditioner to facilitate maintenance and care.
3. The control line of computer panel shall be connected with control panel on air discharge panel.
4. Switch on the power switch only when no error in the line is discovered.
CAUTION
The power supply line used to connect to the air conditioner must be connected correctly with positive and negative
polar. Further , the length of the air conditioner’s power lines must be less than 10m; otherwise the voltage

consumption of the power supply line may result in low-voltage for air conditioner, and result in a shortened service life
of the battery, other adverse conditions may also occur。
During installation, the air return opening of the panel (the side with filter sponge) must be aligned with the air return
opening on the top of air conditioner, and the air discharge opening must be aligned at the front air discharge opening of
the air conditioner roof-top section.
4. 4 Commissioning the Unit
(1) Inspect the entire installation process to ensure for a correct and reliable installation.
(2) When powering on the air conditioner, operate the air conditioner within the operating methods described in the
following sections. Inspect the air conditioner while in operation to check whether all functions are normal, or whether
there are abnormalities, such as unusual noises and the like. Check whether the temperature difference between the
return air and discharged air, and operating current are normal. If abnormal situations are discovered, please inspect the
machine and employ trouble shooting techniques until the unit is operating normally.

5. APPLICATION AND OPERATION


CAUTION
Read and thoroughly understand this service manual in detail before operating and maintaining the air conditioner.
If original vehicle batteries are used for the power supply of air conditioner, please turn off the air conditioner
temporarily before Automotive engine is started. Once started, the air conditioner can be started up again.
The panel display’s work voltage is for reference only. An automatic stop for protection purposes will be triggered
when the voltage of the supply batteries being used to power the air conditioner become lower than 10.5V.

When the air conditioner is in cooling operation in an under-voltage protection mode, the compressor and condenser
blower will stop, but they will be restarted after a 3 minute delayed. Under these conditions, the air conditioner will stop
operating, and the fault code “E1” will be displayed.

When the engine is running, the user should only use the air conditioner when the battery load of vehicle electrical
system and the additional load consumed by air conditioner can be satisfied. When the air conditioner is used while the
engine is not running, the owner must determine and employ the correct size of the battery pack dedicated for air
conditioning use, given the air conditioner run-time between re-charging when the vehicles engine is running.

The work voltage of air conditioner must be the rated voltage of 12V—14V. Too low or too high voltage could result in
abnormal operation of air conditioner.

The air conditioner must be regularly inspected to ensure continual proper use, efficiency of operation, and safety.
5.1 Preparation
(1) Power on the air conditioner
Connect the power supply line of the air conditioner with the power source and confirm the power on.
(2) Inspect the remote control device
Unplug the lower transparent insulator of the remote control and power it on.

5.2 Operation of air conditioner by remote controller

CAUTION
 The remote control in operation must be aligned at the indoor control panel of the air conditioner
(remarks: the actual operation flow of the remote control shall be regarded as standard)
When a key of the remote control is pressed once, the buzzer will buzz once when the control panel
receives the remote control signal. The buzzer will continue the alert in stop for protection.
(1) Power on/off
Press “power” key: power on or power off (press for once, switch for once). When fault alert occurs, press this key
for reset to operate air conditioner continually and press it again to stop the operation. Operation indicator light and
LCD screen will be on in power on; there is no display in power off.
(2) Select operation mode
Press “Mode” key: the mode switches among cooling, heating and fan.
Cooling mode: The operation mode of air conditioner is “cooling”. The is displayed in the middle of LCD
screen of indoor side control panel.
Heating mode: The operation mode of air conditioner is “heating”. The is displayed in the middle of LCD

Air return mode: The cooling symbol “ ” and heating symbol “ ” are not displayed on the air conditioner panel.

Note: If the mode is cooling mode or heating mode. The set temperature is also switched to the default set
temperature in such mode and the default set temperatures respectively are 26℃ (78℉) for cooling and 20℃ (68℉)
for heating.
If it is power off in operation, the controller will memorize previous start status when the machine is started.
(3) Temperature setting
Press temperature setting “▲”“▼” key ▲ key: temperature rise ▼ key: temperature drop
Note: When the air conditioner is in normal operation, the temperature displayed is the current indoor environment
temperature; when “▲” “▼” keys are pressed for temperature setting, the current set temperature is displayed. If
power off in shutdown, the controller will memorize the previous status before shutdown after the machine is started.
(4) Indoor fan speed setting
Press the key of “fan” to set your wanted fan speed.

5.3 Operation of control panel

(1) Power off /on


Press the key of “ON/OFF” to power on or power off (press for once, switch for once). When fault alert occurs, press
this key for reset to operate air conditioner continually and press it again to stop the operation. Operation indicator
light and LCD screen will be on in power on; there is no display in power off.
(2) Select operation mode
Press the key of “MODE” to select proper operation mode.
When this key is pressed for once, the work mode will switch among “heating-cooling-air return” for once and LCD
screen displays the corresponding symbol.
Cooling mode: The operation mode of air conditioner is “cooling”. The is displayed in the middle of LCD
screen of indoor side control panel.
Heating mode: The operation mode of air conditioner is “heating”. The is displayed in the middle of LCD
screen of indoor side control panel

Air return mode: The cooling symbol “ ” and heating symbol “ ” are not displayed on the air conditioner panel.
Note: If the mode is cooling mode or heating mode. The set temperature is also switched to the default set
temperature in such mode and the default set temperatures respectively are 26℃ (78℉) for cooling and 20℃

machine is started.
(3) Set temperature
Press temperature setting (with snowflake symbol) “+” “-” keys
“+” key: set temperature rise
“-“ key: set temperature drop
Note: When the air conditioner is in normal operation, the temperature displayed is the current indoor
environment temperature; when “+” “-” keys are pressed for temperature setting, the current set
temperature is displayed.
(4) Indoor fan speed setting
Press the key of “FAN” to set the wanted speed.

6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

CAUTION
 Please power off the air conditioner before cleaning the air conditioner.
 To maximize the air conditioner’s useful life, the accumulated dust in air conditioner must be
regularly cleaned.
 Do not use abrasive cleaning cloth or volatile oil (such as, benzene or banana oil) and other such
solvents to clean the outer casing of air conditioner
 Do not use hair spray,perfume or insecticide near the air conditioner.

1) Condenser Cleaning
Open the outdoor roof-top plastic casing for cleaning, brush impurities on the fin with a small brush (or blow them
with high-pressure air) and then connect power and start. The person cleaning the condenser should not be near the
roof-top when the unit is started up. Turn off the air conditioner several minutes later. Re- install the outdoor plastic
casing. Washing frequency depends on your specific environment and usage. The fins should be washed with water
once a week when the dust is heavy (in doing so, do not spray water on any electrical parts); washing should be
conducted twice a month in normal dusty environments.

2) Filter Cleaning
Remove the filter located at the air return opening of the indoor plastic panel for washing。 Take out filter, clean it
completely with clean water and re-install when dry. Washing frequency depends on the specific dust environment.
Filter cleaning should be performed twice a month in dusty environments; less dusty environments dictate filter
washing once a month.

3) Water Dis-charge Duct Cleaning


Please inspect water discharge duct regularly and confirm that there is no blockage to avoid indoor drip

4) Fastener Tightening Maintenance


Regularly tighten all mounting fasteners of the air conditioner and ensure the connecting bolts on vehicle roof are
stable and secure.

7. TROUBLE SHOOTING
WARNING

 When there is fault in air conditioner, the air conditioner can be restarted when the fault is found and
removed and it is forbidden to start \ operate the machine with fault.
 When the air conditioner is in abnormal operation, please stop operation, power off it and contact seller or
after-sales service center in time. The continual operation in abnormal situation will lead to fault/fire/
electric shock or others and the manufacturer will not be responsible for these.
 When the air conditioner is in failure, the professional authorized by manufacturer shall conduct
maintenance; otherwise, the manufacturer shall not be responsible for electric shock/fire/ other
disasters caused by improper maintenance.

Analysis on common faults


(1) Inspection on power: Press power switch on indoor side control panel to check whether the power indicator light on
control panel is on. That the light is on indicates the power is normal; if the light is off, please inspect whether the air
switch and line connection are normal. If they are abnormal, please have them replaced under the instruction of
maintenance personnel in our company.
(2) Fault inquiry: When the power of air conditioner is normal but there is still fault, inspect the machine referring to
fault list to discover the fault and inform the fault situation to the maintenance personnel in our company for timely
maintenance.
