1. OVERVIEW
1.1 Purpose
This air conditioner is widely applied in different vehicles such as Recreational Vehicles ,Campers ,Trucks ,
Construction Vehicles, and Other Specialty Vehicles and Equipment.
1.2 Features
▲ Excellent operation efficiency: this is a self-contained DC (direct current) air conditioner energized exclusively by
the vehicle’s battery pack dedicated to the air conditioner. No inverters, auxiliary power units, or generators are
needed. Reliance on the “grid” is not required. The batteries are charged when the vehicle is running; the batteries
are dis-charged when running the air conditioner.
▲ Environmental protection: R134a environmental-protection refrigerant is used in the unit, the most environmentally
friendly refrigerant in the market.
▲ Stable cooling effect: the rotating speed of the compressor in the air-conditioning system is constant, allowing the
-3-
working status and refrigerating effect to be stable.
▲ Rapid refrigerating/adjustable temperature: The efficiency of the compressor allows the environmental temperature
to be reduced to the desired comfort level by user in a short time.
▲ Module memory function: The air conditioner will automatically retain the last start status after start up to avoid the
trouble of repeating the setting.
▲ Simple operation: An intelligent microcomputer control system is used, coupled with a common-sense design and
convenient operation.
▲ Safety features: The air-conditioning system includes a system pressure fault protection, power over-voltage and
under-voltage protection, motor over-current, and overload or default phase self-protection, resulting in a system
which is safe and reliable.
▲ The compressor has been researched and developed by GUCHEN personnel and is characterized by it’s compact
structure, beautiful appearance, small size, high cooling capacity, extreme efficiency, and long service life.
▲ Beauty: The rugged but attractive plastic outer covering with its corrosion resistance characteristics is designed in a
streamline fashion, enhancing its beauty. Additional advantages include its light weight, high temperature resistance,
extreme strength, and wind-resistant design.
▲ The use of advanced process technology results in a compact product structure, beautiful appearance, carefully
integrated within the vehicles existing design.
▲ Delayed start: The compressor includes advanced technology to delay its start for 30 seconds, if necessary, when the
air conditioner is in cooling mode, to protect the compressor from damage.
▲ Under-voltage protection: if the air conditioner discovers that the voltage is lower than the set value in cooling mode,
the compressor will stop operating, and safely restart in three minute cycles. If it is discovered the voltage is lower
than the set value for the third time, the complete unit will close down for protection and display a fault code alert.

4. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING
The Unit should not be installed in a place where combustible gas is present. An accidental leak of
combustible gas may result in explosion or fire.
Correct electrical wiring connections(positive polar and negative polar of power)is necessary.
The roof-top air conditioner must be installed as directed within this manual; otherwise, it may
result in operating in-efficiencies, product and/or vehicle damage, and breach of warranty.
Consideration should be given of installing Unit by a qualified individual specially trained and
experienced in the installation of this type of equipment.
4.1 Installation preparation: Unpack air conditioner package and refer to packing list to assure all parts are
included. The outdoor unit must be placed on vehicle’s relatively flat roof, the air conditioner must be laid as shown in

CAUTION
Inspect the waterproof gasket to assure there is no leakage after installation. If leakage is detected, the
installation shall be re-performed to eliminate the leakage.
A water-proof adhesive must be applied around the binding part between the waterproof gasket and the
vehicle roof to prevent water leakage. Do not use a waterproof adhesive applied with heat.
For irregular and coarse roof tops, all gaps must be sealed with sealant to prevent water leakage.
Test for leakage by pouring water around the opening after installation.
(2) Fix air out/air guiding frame:
2.1 That whether the air out/air guiding frame, which DL vehicle-mounted air conditioner is matched
with, is fractured or not shall be according to customer’s roof thickness. First of all, the customer shall
install air guiding frame in advance, insert air outlet of air guiding frame into the air outlet of panel
mounting support, with certain part exposed, try to install control panel and observe that the air outlet of
fracture air guiding frame never touches the control panel so as to determine length of fractured air
guiding frame.
2.2 After the length of fractured air guiding frame is determined, take down control panel and panel
mounting support, and install air guiding frame as shown in Figure 8.

Figure 10, separate the air return opening and the air discharge opening of air
discharge side with the wind board, decide the height of the wind board according to thickness of vehicle top and
ensure that the other side of wind board is tightly attached to the chassis of outdoor unit of the air conditioner;
2. Securely connect the indoor and outdoor electrical wiring prior to panel installation (connecting the line terminal of
the panel of air conditioner must be connected securely).
3. Install air discharge panel to the installation frame with the supplied screw as shown in Figure 11.
When the air conditioner is in cooling operation in an under-voltage protection mode, the compressor and condenser
blower will stop, but they will be restarted after a 3 minute delayed. Under these conditions, the air conditioner will stop
operating, and the fault code “E1” will be displayed.
When the engine is running, the user should only use the air conditioner when the battery load of vehicle electrical
system and the additional load consumed by air conditioner can be satisfied. When the air conditioner is used while the
engine is not running, the owner must determine and employ the correct size of the battery pack dedicated for air
conditioning use, given the air conditioner run-time between re-charging when the vehicles engine is running.
The work voltage of air conditioner must be the rated voltage of 12V—14V. Too low or too high voltage could result in
abnormal operation of air conditioner.
The air conditioner must be regularly inspected to ensure continual proper use, efficiency of operation, and safety.
