BATTERY SYSTEM − ADJUSTMENT AND TEST
TASK 24−32−00−710−801
Operational Test of the Battery System
1. General
A. The maintenance procedure that follows is for the operational test of the battery system.

3. Job Set−Up
Subtask 24−32−00−910−002

A. Obey all the electrical/electronic safety precautions (Refer to TASK 24−00−00−910−801).

4. Procedure
Subtask 24−32−00−710−003

A. Do the operational test of the battery system as follows:


(1) On the DC CONTROL panel, make sure that the MAIN BUS TIE switch is in the OFF
position.
(2) On the caution and warning panel, make sure the that all caution and warning lights are off.
(3) On the DC CONTROL panel, set the BATTERY MASTER switch to the BATTERY MASTER
position.
(4) Make sure that the caution lights that follow come on:
• MAIN BATT
• AUX BATT
• STBY BATT
NOTE: Other caution lights will also come on.
(5) Open the electrical system page on the MFD as follows:

(a) On the engine and system integrated display control panel (ESCP), set the knob
MFD1 to the SYS position.
NOTE: The ESCP is in the center console.
(b) On the ESCP, push the ELEC SYS push−button. Make sure that the electrical page is
on the MFD.
(6) On the MFD, make sure that voltage shows only on the L ESS and R ESS DC BUS displays

Subtask 24−32−00−710−001

B. Do the operational test on the standby battery system as follows:


(1) On the DC CONTROL panel, set the STBY BATT switch to the STBY BATT position.
(2) On the MFD, make sure that voltage shows only on the L ESS and R ESS DC BUS
displays.
(3) On the MFD, make sure that the BATT STBY display shows the approximate ambient
temperature.
(4) On the MFD, make sure that the BATT STBY LOAD display shows a maximum value of
1.00.
(5) On the DC CONTROL panel, set the STBY BATT switch to the OFF position.

Subtask 24−32−00−710−004

C. Do the operational test on the main battery as follows:


(1) On the DC CONTROL panel, set the MAIN BATT to the MAIN BATT position.
(2) On the MFD, make sure that voltage shows only on the R MAIN, L ESS and R ESS DC
BUS displays.
(3) On the DC control Panel, set the MAIN BUS TIE switch to the MAIN BUS TIE position.
(4) On the MFD, make sure that voltage shows only on the L MAIN, R MAIN, L ESS and R ESS
DC BUS displays.
(5) On the MFD, make sure that the BATT MAIN display shows the ambient temperature.
(6) On the MFD, make sure that the BATT MAIN LOAD display shows a maximum value of
1.00.
(7) On the DC CONTROL panel, set the MAIN BATT and the MAIN BUS TIE switch to the OFF
position.

D. Do the operational test on the auxiliary battery as follows:


(1) On the DC CONTROL panel, set the AUX BATT switch to the AUX BATT position.
(2) On the MFD, make sure that the voltage shows only on the L MAIN, L ESS and R ESS DC
BUS displays.

(3) On the DC CONTROL panel, set the MAIN BUS TIE switch to the MAIN BUS TIE position.
(4) On the MFD, make sure that voltage shows only on the L MAIN, R MAIN, L ESS and the R
ESS DC BUS display.
(5) On the MFD, make sure that the BATT AUX display shows the approximate ambient
temperature.
(6) On the MFD, make sure that the BATT AUX LOAD display shows a maximum value of 1.00.
(7) On the DC CONTROL panel, set the AUX BATT and the MAIN BUS TIE switch to the OFF
position.

E. On the DC CONTROL panel, set the BATTERY MASTER switch to the OFF position.

5. Close Out

A. Remove all tools, equipment, and unwanted materials from the work area.
