SCENE SIX - CONTINUATION
JUDY begins picking up papers again, is startled by her
husband DICK, walking in. He's your average dude, sporting a
little less hair and a little more paunch than he did a
couple years ago.
DICK
Hey, Babe.
guDy
Dick, what are you doing here?
DICK
Your sister told me you got a job.
(looks at the mess)
Doesn't look like it's exactly up
your alley.
gUDY
oh no it’s completely up my alley.
I'll be done in a minute. Do you
want to grab a bite to eat later?
Maybe talk?
DICK
I can't stay, Mindi's waiting in
the car. We're headed to Acapulco
for a little R and R.
(her face falls)
DICK (CONT’D) (CONT'D)
(sheepishly)
These are the final divorce papers.
You need to sign them and give them
to your lawyer.
guDy
Final? That sounds so--final.
DICK
(awkward)
Bye, Judy.
(HB puts out a hand to
shake. SHE tries to go in
for the hug. THEY end up
with an awkward
handshake. HE leaves HER.
SHE calls after HIM.)
