State Of Play
By Elizabeth Newton
May 13, 2021
Sonia Baker, played by Maria Thayer, has seemingly committed suicide. While investigating the
case further, Cal McAffrey and his old roommate, Stephen Collins (played by Ben Affleck) , who
is now a councilman, find evidence that proves otherwise. In an effort to clear Collins'
conscience, Cal and Della, (played by Rachel McAdams), investigate the scene even further
until an unexpected twist catches you off guard. But you’ll have to watch the movie to find out
what happens next.
This movie was truly a piece of work. I loved the plot twists, the intense scenes, and of course,
the acting. It all seemed so real. Like it was happening in real time, being filmed for the world to
see. It felt like I was there seeing it all happen. The actors seemed so close and it only made the
movie even better. I wouldn’t have changed anything about this movie if I could. But no matter
what, do not fall asleep during the movie. You will be very lost and confused.
Overall, this movie was very intriguing. I definitely wouldn't mind watching this again with my
friends or family. The character bond, the twists and turns of the plot, the effortless acting all
helped this movie become a piece of art for people to enjoy. If you enjoy thrillers and mysteries,
this movie is definitely for you. I recommend whoever is reading this to make some popcorn, sit
down, and watch State of Play as soon as they have the chance to. You will not regret it.
