Fibonacci and the Golden Ratio

NAME: Mark Lawrence R. Laurente DATE SUBMITTED: COURSE/YR/SECTION:

BSBA FM-2A 180 PTS

Consider the following:

A. Search for the examples of Fibonacci Sequence that can be seen in

nature/environment (not included in the example given in the video). Describe how
you consider it as an example of Fibonacci sequence. Attach the picture of your
examples. Give at least 3 examples. (90 pts)

These three pictures show the pattern of Fibonacci sequence first the rabbits a newly born pair of
rabbits, one male, one female, are put in a field. Rabbits can mate at the age of one month so that at
the end of its second month a female can produce another pair of rabbits.

At the end of the first month, they mate, but there is still one only 1 pair. At the end of the second
month the female produces a new pair, so now there are 2 pairs of rabbits in the field. At the end of
the third month, the original female produces a second pair, making 3 pairs in all in the field. At the
end of the fourth month, the original female has produced yet another new pair, the female born two
months ago produces her first pair also, making 5 pairs.

The number of pairs of rabbits in the field at the start of each month is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, ...
The Second is the bee’s female honeybees have two parents, a male and a female, whereas male
honeybees have just one parent, a female. He had 1 parent a female. Since his mother had two
parents, he has 2 grandparents, a male and a female, since his grandmother had two parents, but his
grandfather had only one, he has 3 great-grand-parents. The numbers of ancestors in each
generation of the honeybee are Fibonacci numbers.

The last one is the tree, the pattern of Fibonacci sequence show that in every branch of the tree first is
one branch of tree and the second branch is two then the higher you go the branch continuously
added and it shows the pattern of Fibonacci sequence the 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21….

B. Search for the examples of Golden Rectangle/Golden Ratio that illustrate the Phi ( ).
Describe your answer by putting an arrow on the picture you choose. (arrow to
illustrate the Golden ratio/Golden Rectangle or describe the golden ratio). Give at
least 3 examples. (90 pts)
