Lesson Essential Question: How do different landforms occur across the earth?
Activating Strategy: Having a daily social studies routine of writing about a new
landform and drawing a picture will help students flow through the lesson more
smoothly. Students will be exposed to literacy, music, videos, body movement, as
well as hands-on activities in order to target all types of learners.
Key vocabulary : Island, Surrounded, River, Current, Bend
Lesson Instruction:
Learning activity 1 Graphic Organizer:
1. What is an Island?
2. Students will read a poem aloud and do body
movements to it. Smartboard Slides
3. Students will listen to a song about Islands.
4. Students will watch a Disney movie clip of how Assignment:

River and begin to write in their landforms booklet.
