Introduction
The first human cases of COVID-19, the disease
caused by the novel corona virus causing
COVID-19, subsequently named SARS-CoV-2
were first reported by officials in Wuhan City,
China, in December 2019. Retrospective
investigations by Chinese authorities have
identified human cases with onset of symptoms
in early December 2019.
While some of the earliest known cases had a
link to a wholesale food market in Wuhan, some
did not. Many of the initial patients were stall
owners, market employees, or regular visitors to
this market. Environmental samples taken from
this market in December 2019 tested positive for
SARS-CoV-2, further suggesting that the market
in
Wuhan City was the source of this outbreak or
played a role in the initial amplification of the
outbreak. The market was closed on 1 January
2020. SARS-CoV-2 was identified in early
January and its genetic sequence shared publicly
on 11-12 January. The full genetic sequence of
SARS-CoV-2 from the early human cases and
the sequences of many other virus isolated from
human cases from China and all over the world
since then show that SARS-CoV-2 has an
ecological origin in bat populations. All
available evidence to date suggests that the virus
has a natural animal origin and is not a
manipulated or constructed virus. Many
researchers have been able to look at the
genomic features of SARS-CoV-2 and have
found that evidence does not support that SARS-
CoV-2 is a laboratory construct. If it were a
constructed virus, its genomic sequence would
show a mix of known elements. This is not the
case.
Another corona virus, SARS-CoV-1, the cause
of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome
(SARS) outbreak in 2003, was also closely
related to other corona viruses isolated from
bats. These close genetic relations of SARS-
CoV-1, SARSCoV-2 and other corona viruses,
suggest that they all have their ecological origin
in bat populations. Many of these corona viruses
can also infect several animal species. For
example, SARS-CoV-1 infected civet cats and
then humans, while the virus causing the Middle
East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) is
found in dromedary camels, and has continued
to infect humans since 2012.
All available evidence for COVID-19 suggests
that SARS-CoV-2 has a zoonotic source. Since
there is usually limited close contact between
humans and bats, it is more likely that
transmission of the virus to humans happened
through another animal species, one that is more
likely to be handled by humans. This
intermediate animal host or zoonotic source
could be a domestic animal, a wild animal, or a
domesticated wild animal and, as of yet, has not
been identified.
All the published genetic sequences of SARS-
CoV-2 isolated from human cases are very
similar. This suggests that the start of the
outbreak resulted from a single point
introduction in the human population around the
time that the virus was first reported in humans
in Wuhan, China in December 2019.
A number of investigations to better understand
the source of the outbreak in China are currently
underway or planned, including investigations of
human cases with symptom onset in and around
Wuhan in late 2019, environmental sampling
from markets and farms in areas where the first
human cases were identified, and detailed
records on the source and type of wildlife
species and farmed animals sold in these
markets. Results from these studies are essential
to preventing further zoonotic introductions of
SARS-CoV-2 into the human population. WHO
continues to collaborate with animal health and
human health experts, Member States, and other
partners to identify gaps and research priorities
for the control of COVID-19, including the
eventual identification of the source of the virus
in China.
The COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia is part of
the ongoing worldwide pandemic of corona
virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by
severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus
2 (SARS-CoV-2). It was confirmed to have
spread to Indonesia on 2 March 2020, after a
dance instructor and her mother tested positive
for the virus. Both were infected from a
Japanese national.
By 9 April 2020, the pandemic had spread to all
34 provinces in the country. Jakarta, West Java,
and Central Java are the worst-hit provinces,
together accounting more than half of the
national total cases. The largest increase of new
cases in a single day occurred on 30 January
2021, when 14,518 cases were announced. At
most 13,038 recoveries and 476 fatalities were
ever recorded within a span of 24 hours. On 13
July 2020, the recoveries exceeded active cases
for the first time.
As of 19 February 2021, Indonesia has reported
1,263,299 cases, the highest in Southeast Asia,
ahead of the Philippines. With 34,152 deaths,
Indonesia ranks third in Asia and 17th in the
world. Review of data, however, indicated that
the number of deaths may be much higher than
what has been reported as those who died with
acute COVID-19 symptoms but had not been
confirmed or tested were not counted in the
official death figure.
Indonesia has tested 6,839,040 people against its
270 million population so far, or around 25,367
people per million. The World Health
Organization has urged the nation to perform
more tests, especially on suspected patients.
Instead of implementing a nationwide lockdown,
the government had approved large-scale social
restrictions (Indonesian: Pembatasan Sosial
Berskala Besar, abbreviated as PSBB) for some
regencies and cities. All existing activities are
hampered, all schools and offices are closed or
activities are held at home called working from
home or studying from home, besides that many
mall recreational tourist attractions are closed.
And not only that the government has also
banned all crowd-related activities such as
festivals, weddings and other events, as well as
concerts and gigs.
After a lockdown for several days, the
government finally made a new decision
because there were many activities that had to be
carried out outside the home. Starting from late
May 2020, they began to apply new normal,
along with other green and yellow zone regions.
This policy received much criticism and is
considered as a 'disaster' due to the still
increasing number of cases. The residents could
leave the house with several health protocols to
prevent the corona, including using masks and
avoiding crowds, besides that, we have to wash
hands after going outside. There are also many
people who have held several weddings and
other events, but in a much smaller number of
people. Malls and tourist attractions have begun
to open, but schools and lectures are not allowed
and conducted online. In addition, festival
concerts, music events, and gigs are not
permitted.
For many live music fans and gigs, spring is the
most important season, as bands hit the road and
huge festivals, such as South by Southwest and
Coachella, kick off a busy concert season.
But in the face of the corona virus pandemic,
spring concerts and even the summer music
season are in peril, as social distancing and self-
quarantining make performing live music and
attending live shows all but impossible. Tours
have been postponed or outright canceled, and
state and local prohibitions on large public
gatherings have closed venues indefinitely.
Music fans’ calendars, and the calendars of their
beloved artists, have cleared at a record rate.
In isolation, music feels more necessary than
usual. Fans know that, and musicians know that.
Which is why many artists in quarantine are
finding other ways to perform “live,” via
platforms like Instagram and YouTube, and
rallying around hashtags like #TogetherAtHome
The pandemic has incited an explosion in
livestreamed mini-concerts and DJ sets, hosted
by artists on their social media feeds and often
announced at the drop of a hat? John Legend and
his wife, Chrissy Teigen, hung out on Instagram
for an hour on March 18, with Legend playing
fans’ song requests. Elton John hosted a benefit
concert with iHeartRadio on March 30, with
artists including Billie Eilish, Billie Joe
Armstrong, and Dave Grohl all performing from
their homes. And DJ Derrick “D-Nice” Jones
hosts “Club Quarantine” on Instagram Live, an
at-home, one-man, disco-dripping dance party
that’s amassed a large following and won him
the title of “unlikely corona virus hero” from the
Los Angeles Times. (Among those fans: Oprah
Winfrey and Joe Biden.)
Though they’re not quite like seeing a show in
person, these virtual gigs are playing a
fascinating role in keeping the public arts alive
while public life is on lockdown. Each live show
is unique and unfiltered, revealing a side of
artists that many fans don’t get an opportunity to
see up close. And like viewers, artists are
looking for ways to stay hopeful. Through these
at-home shows, they’ve found a perfect
opportunity to blend performance with an
uplifting experience that puts everyone tuning in
just a little more at ease with their situation, but
of course with the atmosphere of vibrations and
enthusiasm that different.
a. Research Question
The research question we are using to guide
my research is
“How enthusiastic have fan groups gigs have
been for virtual gigs platforms during this
pandemic?”
The null hypothesis is that fan of gigs is so
enthusiast to virtual gigs during pandemic. The
research hypothesis is that fan of gigs isn't really
enthusiast to virtual gigs during pandemic.
b. Theoretical Framework
Based on this research theory that the
researcher going to use is about enthusiasm:
Anthony Dio Martin defines enthusiasm as an
inner passion followed by a feeling of being
inspired by something, being motivated to make
something happen with optimism and creativity.
Ruly Mujahid defines enthusiasm as joy, a surge
of passion, a passion for something.
c. Indicator theoretical framework
1. What is enthusiasm
Enthusiasm is a feeling of energetic interest in
a particular subject or activity and a desire to
be involved in it, or subject that produces such
a feeling
2. What is music gigs
Gig is slang for a live musical performance,
recording session, or other (usually paid)
engagement of a musician or ensemble.
Originally coined in the 1920s by jazz
musicians, the term, short for the word
"engagement", now refers to any aspect of
performing such as assisting with performance
and attending musical performance. More
broadly, the term "gigging" means having paid
work, being employed.

3. What is virtual gigs

virtual gigs is a music performance where the

artist/band is not present at your location. This
could be any event that is normally presented in
person.

a virtual performance platform is a medium for

presenting musical performances that an artist /
band does not exist in your location. usually this
is social media that can be displayed live.
