1. Explain 4 types of crack including the causes of each type of crack. (Provide site photograph
of each crack)

2. Explain in detail the following test for aggregate/bitumen:

i. Polished Stone Value
ii. Los Angeles Abrasion Value.
iii. Ductility Test.
(The explanation must consist of Principle, Diagram (if any), Procedure, Calculation (if
any) and Result & Discussion. State the requirement from JKR if related.)

1. From your answer in question 2, select one test to determine the aggregate toughness.
2. The Los Angeles Abrasion Value for course aggregate is 50%. Discuss the suitability of the
aggregate to be used for asphalt pavement.
