Crafts

Max and Molly Redwork

This pattern contains two designs for making up into a mini wall hanging.
You could easily incorporate the finished stitchery into a cushion, a quilt or a bag.

Materials Needed

For one stitchery you will need:

1 x 7½in square of fine calico

1 x 7½in square of wadding or H630 Vlieseline (Vilene)
1 x 6½in square of backing fabric
1 x 2¼in x 36in strip of fabric for binding
1 x skein of six stranded embroidery thread – (I used approx. 3½ metres of DMC Colour
815) or coton a broder 16 or cotton perle 16
A sharp HB pencil
Masking tape
Tacking thread
Cream piecing thread
Thread to match binding

If you have a small cutting mat it is useful to pop under your work while you are tracing, but
I will bring a few with me anyway.

If you are using H630 Vliesline instead of wadding we shall need an iron, ironing board and
a damp cloth (A man’s hanky is ideal)

You won’t need the backing and binding at the workshop as we won’t get that far.
