EP09 AA10 EV06 Formato Preparacion Debate FabianArdila
We are Fabian Ardila & Juan Payares and the topic for today's debate is “Keeping all your
data in the cloud – is that smart?”
● Cloud Service Closes Shop: There is a possibility that your cloud provider will run
out of money and close their doors forever.
Your First Point
State your argument:
My first point is “Have access to our data on all side just whit Internet”.
The fact of keep a copy of our data in the cloud allow us to access to this on every
moment we need or want without have the need of keep on us an external hard drive or
USB if the files doesn’t occupy to much space on disk.
The copy of an important report or in our case the copy of an evidence for the teacher.
Closing statement
Chairperson, opposition and members of the audience, in conclusion the fact of keep in
the cloud all our data makes easy to share, have access and keep safe our data, of course
if we manage them whit responsibly.
● Cloud Service Closes Shop: There is a possibility that your cloud provider will run
out of money and close their doors forever.
Your First Point
State your argument:
My first point is downtime
This problem is magnified by the issue of cloud vendor lock-in, where migrating from one
cloud vendor to another is difficult and expensive.
Think of it like renting a warehouse and filling it with merchandise. Once you have all of
that merchandise stored in there, it’s a logistical nightmare to move it.
Now imagine how difficult things would get if you lost access to the warehouse when the
warehouse’s owner went bankrupt.
Closing statement
Chairman, opposition and members of the audience, in conclusion when weighing the
cloud computing advantages and disadvantages, it’s important to keep the sources of
those pros and cons in mind. Cloud service providers are responsible for just about every
advantage. The same isn’t true for the disadvantages.
Cloud providers can’t control when your Internet access goes down. They can only exert
limited control over your personal digital security habits. As for the providers closing
shop, it’s always best to choose companies that have an established track record.
