1. Explain the conceptual framework of Mathematics Education.

The center of the framework is critical thinking and problem solver

because that is the major skills that students are expected to develop. These are
the twin goals of mathematics. To achieve these goals, there are different
approaches and theories that supports the framework including Discovery and
Inquiry-based Learning, Experiential and Situated Learning, Reflective Learning,
Constructivism, and Cooperative Learning. These learning principles and
theories addresses the content, skills and processes, values and attitudes,
mathematical tools and contexts.
As the figure shows, Discovery and Inquiry-Based Learning addresses the
learning of contexts and content. Contexts includes the beliefs, environment,
language, culture, prior knowledge, and experiences. On the other hand, the
content expected to be learned and understood by the students in Mathematics
are Numbers and Number Sense, Measurement, Geometry, Patterns and
Algebra and Statistics and Probability.
To further understand the concepts, and develop skills and process, the
teaching strategy should be based in Experiential and Situated Learning. Skills
that students must possess according to the framework are Knowing and
Understanding, Estimating, Computing, and Solving, Visualizing and Modelling,
Representing and Communicating, Conjecturing, Reasoning, Proving, and
Decision Making, and Applying and Connecting.
Skills and Processes could also be developed with the help of Reflective
Learning. Moreover, this principle also focuses on honing values and attitudes
such as accuracy, creativity, objectivity, perseverance, and productivity.
Like the Reflective Learning, Constructivism also supports in honing
values and attitudes. On the other hand, Constructivism and Cooperative
Learning theories supports the use of mathematical tools like manipulatives,
measuring devices, calculators, computers, smart phones, tablets, and personal
computers which could be used in teaching and learning process. Furthermore,
Cooperative learning is also linked with the contexts.
As we try to stare at the conceptual framework, it only makes sense that
each of the variables in the framework are linked with each other. Thus, it could
lead to achieving the goal of developing students who are critical thinkers and
problem solvers.
2. Identify the grade level standards in 10.

LEARNING AREA STANDARD: The learner demonstrates understanding

and appreciation of key concepts and principles of mathematics as applied
- using appropriate technology - in problem solving, critical thinking,
communicating, reasoning, making connections, representations, and
decisions in real life.
Learning area standard refers to the educational objectives for a specific
course or subject which should be learned by the students of a particular grade
level at the end of instructions.
In the learning area standard of Mathematics, it aimed for the students to
be enlightened with the different concepts and principles of math so they can be
able to understand and demonstrate it through application. As we are now in the
21st education, almost technological tools were used in applying our knowledge
for a certain thing. In the conceptual framework of Mathematics Education, there
are specific skills to be developed and enhance in this field such as problem
solving, critical thinking, communicating, reasoning, making connections,
representations, and decisions in real life that's why this is what we are going to
improve by using technology. Moreover, in the learning area standard there's no
specific practices and methods included to achieve this that's why upon teaching
the different topics, lessons, concepts and principles of mathematics, the
teachers must make their instruction and facilitate learning by having activities
which could support and require the students to learn and use the different skills
aligned in mathematics education so they could understand it better and be able
to apply this in real life situations.

3. Identify the grade level standard in Grades 10.

The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts and principles of

patterns and algebra (sequences, series, polynomials, polynomial
equations, and polynomial functions); geometry (circles and coordinate
geometry); and statistics and probability (combinatorics and probability, and
measures of position) as applied - using appropriate technology - in critical
thinking, problem solving, reasoning, communicating, making connections,
representations, and decisions in real life.
